Round 1 - Referee Larry Landless in the cage for this featherweight matchup. Poirier in the center as he measures a bouncing Garza. Garza with a low kick. Crowd a little restless. Poirier closes the distance and rattles off a combination. Garza trying to keep distance and use his reach. Poirier catches a low kick and dumps his foe. He scores a few right hands as Garza works back to his feet. Poirier catches another kick and sweeps Garza to the floor. He gets up quickly. Halfway into the round, and it's Garza who pushes the action to the floor and looks for a knee bar. Tense moments for Poirier, but he pulls free. Poirier continues to find a home for his punches, and he pushes in on Garza and powers him to the floor. Garza in half-guard underneath. He's looking for options, but Poirier is the one scoring with punches when he finds room. Garza gets full guard, but his long limbs aren't threatening at the moment .Elbows form the bottom in the closing seconds, but Poirier finishes on top and takes the round on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9.

Round 2 - Garza comes out swinging but slips to the floor on a spinning strike that misses. He dives on for a leg, but Poirier falls directly on top of him. Crowd going crazy right now because Michael Bisping is making his way to his seat. Mostly boos, of course. Meanwhile, Poirier is riding out position on top. Not a lot of strikes, but he's maneuvering into position for a D'arce choke. Garza on his knees, but he's trapped. Poirier rolls him over to seal the deal, and Garza taps to the pressure. Dustin Poirier def. Pablo Garza via submission (D'arce choke) - Round 2, 1:32.
