I had Jonson winning the first and second 10-9 two rounds to one. I had the last round 10-8 McCall.

I scored it for McCall, but the bottom line is it does not matter how any of us scored it.

The judges scored it a draw and the totaling of the scorecards was incorrect leading to a re-match. This furthers the argument that reform is needed for scoring fights in MMA and if reform is not done then MMA could end up like boxing.

It has been getting worse as of late. I still say that the judges should be former MMA fighters only.

Takedowns are overrated. How was the third a 10-8?

I could also see the first as a 10-10 and splitting the other two. A half-point could have been all the difference. If you think about it like this,

Rd 1 - even. The takedowns and big punch negate each other

Rd 2 - close, but Johnson gets the edge, lands a few more, does a bit more damange

Rd 3 - dominant, McCall has the back for most of the round, smashing Johnson while Johnson can do nothing but cover up.

and it gets scored 10-10, 10-9, 9-10 for a draw, how does that make sense? McCall should have won it if you see it that way, he won the third by far more than he lost the second.

We need at least to go to half points.

I would say its not even as complicated. My sister could tell it needed to go another round it was a close fight. When in doubt make em fight it out.

Anybody else appreciate the irony in that for the first time ever a sudden death round is included in the fight contract to eliminate a draw, it isn't used because of confusion and the fight ends up being a draw...
