JDS vs Reem Official for UFC146 in May.

As expected, UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos (14-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) will make his first title defense on May 26 in Las Vegas.

UFC officials today revealed the long-rumored booking, which sees Dos Santos face former Strikeforce champ Alistair Overeem (36-11 MMA, 1-0 UFC), who earned the shot with a recent win over former UFC champ Brock Lesnar.

The fight headlines UFC 146, which takes place May 26 at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Ticket information is expected to be revealed shortly, but UFC officials announced they will go on sale later this month.

Overeem, a former Strikeforce champion who was released by the organization and quickly signed by its sister promotion, made his official UFC debut at UFC 141 at MGM Grand Garden Arena. By knocking out ex-champ Lesnar (for his 11th straight win), he set up the upcoming heavyweight title fight with current champ Dos Santos, who was healing from a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Dos Santos fights for the first time since winning the title with a first-round knockout of Cain Velasquez this past November. He'd been sidelined by a torn meniscus in his left knee but has since said he's recovered 100 percent.

Dos Santos is undefeated in the UFC and currently boasts a nine-fight win streak.

The full lineup for UFC 146 currently includes:
Champ Junior Dos Santos vs. Alistair Overeem (for heavyweight title)
Edson Barboza vs. Evan Dunham
Dan Hardy vs. Duane "Bang" Ludwig
Diego Brandao vs. Darren Elkins
C.B. Dollaway vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller
Shane Del Rosario vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
Kyle Kingsbury vs. Glover Teixeira
Paul Sass vs. Jacob Volkmann

Pretty excited for the Barboza and Hardy fight. Also obviously the main event. Are there any lines out yet for the main event? Just curious where they are.

I'm really excited for Shane vs Gabe and I so badly want Hardy to get handed another loss so the UFC can give him the axe.

I have no problem with guys being cocky or a bad ass if they can back it up, but all this guy does is talk shit and lose. Quite frankly it's embarrassing to watch.

Dunham vs Barboza should be interesting. Evan needs to get it to the ground but Barboza has shown amazing takedown defense. Gotta give the nod to Barboza.

Overeem vs Dos Santos is a coin toss as far as I'm concerned. My gut tells me Overeem, but I honestly don't know.

Yeah also excited for the Gabe/Shane fight. Ludwig and Hardy should be fun no matter the outcome. Haha, watch Ludwig fake an overhand go for a double right off the bat when Hardy thinks he's finally getting a striking battle.

I also agree that Dunham is going to have problems if he can't get a hold of Barboza. I'm just curious how the lines will look for the main event because I think all things considered, Junior should be a slight favorite but I wonder how much all the hype on paper for Overeem will factor into it.

I think they need to add another good fight. I hope they don't throw Hardy or CB Dollaway on the main card. Those should be free fights.

Where is this Mir/Cain fight getting fit in? I highly doubt it will be on 147 in Brazil. 148 is in July. I mean how long are they sitting out?

Barboza's TDD is legit but his jits is also excellent, i wouldn't be worried at all in that fight.

Co-main event ay for Barboza or at least one of the headliners...good stuff! Amazing fighter with such poise. Should have been Pettis vs Barboza. Actually isn't Dunham the 3rd Brit he's fighting...seems to be a pattern developing here.

If Overeem pulls this off he'd be the first and likely the last fighter to hold all titles from those organizations. He's come a long way... Come to think of it, look how incredible the journey is for each fighter to have gotten where they are now in the present.
