Dan Henderson Won't Fight Chael Sonnen, Only Wants Anderson Silva At 185

"Chael lives up in Oregon but I know him real well. He was with me and Randy [Couture] when we first started our team," Henderson told ESPN.

"I don't have any real desire to fight at middleweight. The only guy I'd cut weight for is Anderson Silva, win or lose that could still happen.

"But it's not high up on my list at all. Silva's the only guy I'd cut weight for. I've got the light-heavyweight thing in my mind and that's it. I'd fight Anderson Silva but I'm only interested in the UFC light-heavyweight title right now."

I like hendo alot but i think that by saying he'd only fight silva is kinda disrespectful against the mw division, surly not the most stacked division but still amazing talents.

Sure he would beat 90% of them but still show some class man.

But maybe im al wrong an the reason he only wants to fight silva is to settle the score?

I think at this point in his career, Dan Henderson only wants big fights - title fights, to be exact. He's on record as saying this. And I agree that if he wants Silva, he should have to at least fight one top MW, but I suppose he feels he's paid his dues. And in many respects, he has.

Though I'm like you. I believe in working your way to a title shot, no matter who you are.

Maybe he means he will only fight at MW for the title, which begs the question if Sonnen beats Silva would Hendo fight Sonnen.

Fav Fighters:
BJ
GSP
Askren
JDS
Belcher
Shogun
Fedor
Hendo
Sonnen

Dan we get it, Hendo has said this in every interview since before he fought Fedor. Ok ,loud and clear unless you state otherwise Dan we are just gonna assume this still holds true.

Both Sonnen and Silva would do a job on Henderson - as would Jones...but he has a better punchers chance there.

I don't think he's exactly preaching it out loud out of his own choice, more so I think he keeps getting asked who he wants to fight next/who will be his next opponent over and over. The same questions being asked result in the same answer, no?

Is anyone else disgusted with the fact that he's only holding out for a title shot and UFC management allows it?

He's 41 and looking to go out as the champ in my opinion. Not going to happen at MW or LHW.

How does the guy that lost the last 2 rounds of his last fight and got beat on in the last round get a title shot?

If that's not an indication of how thin LHW is getting, then I don't know what is.

How do you figure? He is actually worst once the 2nd time around. The first time he had wrestling and cardio. Now henderson is a striker looking for that Hbomb. The man could not touch silva the first time around with his striking, hell silva took his shots and did not flinch.

The 2nd time around it would just be a quicker finish than the first time.
