The first person I can recall would be Dana White himself.

Not to hate on Canada, but I would like to know the criteria for which he bases this on. There have been more succesful fighters from the US and Brazil than in Canada, and the biggest, most succesful org in MMA history is a US org.

I know Canadians are very passionate about MMA and have a lot of great fighters, but Canada has done nothing more than some other countries to deserve to be the Mecca of MMA.

I think it was based on ticket sales.

It just sounds better than saying that "Canada is a giant ATM for the UFC".

I think he meant it on a 'fandom' level more so than anything else. And I can't deny his accuracy in that regard. Canadian MMA fans are the best, most respectful fans in the world. We don't chant obnoxious chants like the Americans. We don't boo refs so that they'll stand up our hometown fighters like the Brazilians. We don't laugh in the middle of a fight, for no apparent reason, like the Australians. And they don't risk riots induced by little more than alcoholism in Canada like they do anywhere in the UK. We cheer good fights, and we cheer good fighters, regardless of the circumstances. Thus making us better than all of you.

Canadian fans > Japanese fans > whatever's left
