Anderson knew going into the fight with Sonnen that Sonnen's entire gameplan was to take him down. Sonnen never tried to hide it, he said multiple times in public that he was going to take Anderson down, and I quote:

I’ve got two national championship plaques on my wall that says I can take him down. I’ve got a silver medal from the world championships in 2001 that says he can’t stop me from taking him down. If he’s got an answer to it, God bless him.
Anderson knew his gameplan, and failed to stop it, and got beat on for 23 minutes.

I expect the exact same thing (Sonnen getting takedowns whenever he wants), however, who knows if he'll get subbed, or if he can keep from getting subbed, etc.

All I know is, if Sonnen wants Silva on the ground, Sonnen will get Silva on the ground. What happens from there, who knows.

I fully expect Chael to be able to get Anderson on the ground at some point in the fight again. Anyone that denies that Silva will be taken down is just being stubborn/naive. (This is coming from a huge Silva fan and probably one of his biggest defenders on this board) That being said, if the rib injury was legit (and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be) I believe Anderson will be much more active on his back and possibly even sweep Chael and land some solid ground and pound of his own this time around, look for a submission, or simply stand up from there. This will frustrate Chael, and will lead to a critical mistake of his that Anderson will take advantage of. This is just my opinion but I really think Anderson will surprise some people with his ability off his back this time around.

Chael's punch, rocking AS early, changed the landscape of that fight. It's unlikely that Anderson gets hurt bad early on the feet again, left only to fight for survival. I dig me some Sonnen, but he pissed away a golden opportunity in his last meeting with Silva, one that he won't have again in the Spider's hometown.

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
