Why does everyone have a totally skewed perspective on things?
If Rampage was that slow and predictable, Machida would have had no respect for him and trashed him in the first. Washed up fighters do not control Machida for the best part of 15 minutes. Machida has been super fast in has past couple fights.
If Shogun's knees were so ruined, he would not be able to train and fight. His knee slipped against Machida in 2010, yet he just went 5 hard, varied rounds with Hendo after only a month of training. So who's to say his knees are not better than they've been in a while? It is a completely healable injury, you just have to give it a chance and do it properly. I think Shogun has gone into fights too soon after surgery, and with no recent surgeries, he has looked great. Knocked out Griffin and went to war with TRT Hendo.
As for Rua vs Machida 3, I'm not really digging that right now. They both need wins, so fights with new guys would be more productive for the division. Either they get a win and make comebacks, or new contenders are produced with a big name under their belt.
Rua vs Machida would kill off a big name, top tier fighter. With Rampage's recent decline, we need to keep these boys away from each other for now, get them fighting lesser ranked guys and more regularly.
