Shogun wouldn't mind facing Machida again and coaching on TUF Brazil

Quote:
“Of course it is my great desire to do a TUF, which is a program where people see everything that passes the fighter. Lyoto would make it even more interesting, is a top category, and consider how good this third fight, will sell a lot. Actually it was suggested that the UFC Rampage, who accepted, but had to operate the knees. So do not want to ask anyone, I fight anyone. I want that belt back, so I cannot choose opponent. But surely it would be great to face Lyoto. I’m waiting for the definition of the UFC, who promised that I would fight in June or July.”

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua tells Brazilian Media outlet, Portal Do Vale Tudo, that he is open to coaching “The Ultimate Fighter” and he is open to coaching it opposite Lyoto Machida and completing their bound to happen trilogy.

Obviously a bad Google Translation here - but I like the idea of those two as coaches And I also kinda like a third match, they're (technically) 1-1 so a tie-breaker would be nice

I thought these guys had a 'no fighting Brazilians for any reason other than a title shot' thing going.

Still, I would like to see the end of the trilogy!

Considering the first two were around the title, I have no interest in a third until Shogun is champ again if Lyoto manages to work his way back up. Seems like a weak way to end an epic trilogy if the two are just hanging out in limbo

Which one is going to beat Jones?

WHo is to say they will both be around for much longer?

Weak? Why?

I'm down to see it. It makes sense right now. I don't care to see either vs Bader or Phil Davis.

Perfect time for it. They both need a win to get back on track. A loss would hurt either one.

McCall, Faber, Aldo, Nate, Nick, Lyoto, TBD, Hunt
Forever hanging in Anderson Silva nuts

They'll obviously fight before this, probably and preferably against Phil Davis and Ryan Bader. Shogun can deal with Davis' slow ass and Machida can get himself a top five win over Bader.

Then they can coach and in all honesty, I'd love to see it. Anyone who believes Shogun is still the same guy from 2009/2010 is lying to themselves. His knees are completely destroyed beyond repair, his cardio is done, his movement, his speed, his quickness everything that made him dangerous in Pride and against Machida and Liddell is gone and after the two ass kickings he took at the hands of Jones and Hendo I don't think he'll ever be the same.

I'm sure the Shogun fans will march in and start bringing up the Forrest win and calling me a butt hurt Machida fan boy but those same people probably think Forrest isn't an elite fighter anymore either and anyone with half a brain could tell Forrest came just to collect a check especially after his masterful performance against Franklin.

Machida would out point Shogun today with ease and would win the trilogy and send people like Bloodstain Lane into a hilarious depression. I hope it does happen, and while they're at it line Rampage up for Machida so he can kick his ass too. Redemption must be taken and justice must be served.

There's no possible way Machida outpoints Shogun my friend.... hate to say it but Machida would get TKO/KO'd badly again.

Not to beat a dead horse but the first fight was a gifted decision to Machida.

I just hope they either get these guys to fight again or get them off the shelf with a top 5 opponent.

And Machida has looked the same in his last four fights as he did when he first went on a tear? Does your hypocrisy know no bounds? Seriously, where does it end with you? You've said that Fighter A is going to whoop up on Fighter B about a zillion times now, and each time, you've been wrong. Has it not yet occurred to you that there is no such thing as a safe bet in MMA?

Machida got KTFO out by Shogun. Machida got CTFO by Jones. Machida lost an obvious decision to Rampage. And Machida was GIFTED a decision win against Shogun in their first encounter. And you're sitting there telling the world that Shogun no longer looks to be the same fighter? You make me laugh. Please, tell me more about how Machida would outpoint Shogun with ease and that Ben Henderson has nothing for Frankie Edgar.

You should probably re-read that post considering I never said Machida was the same fighter he was either, I just said Shogun is done based on the fact his knees have had to been operated on a hundred times and he got the shit beat out of him twice last year. Quit acting like McKeever, while it's funny to watch, it's also pretty sad.

You should also probably re-read the rest of my posts, the only fight I was wrong about was Edgar/Henderson and everyone knows that when they rematch on North American soil where point fighting counts Edgar is going to win the rematch.
