Does anyone not pick the guy who beat them?

I always see useless fighter predictions. Everyone just picks the guy who beat them to win their next fight. Mir said Brock would beat Overeem, Brock said Cain would beat JDS, Stann said Sonnen will beat Silva, etc. Do fighters ever lose to a guy and then actually predict them to lose?

(not counting Sonnen BTW here, that's the easy answer)

no, fighters are big headed and want to think they lost to the best in the world.

Ah but in that situation Rashard just beat Rampage so by picking rampage is he saying he beat the better fighter!

Heh, well Rashad gave an interesting reason as to why Rampage would win. I actually didn't think Rampage would win either, but Rashad's logic made sense.

Quote:
One of his strengths is one of Machida’s weaknesses, which is he always pulls back in combinations, he goes in and he pulls back,” Evans commented about Machida’s style. “Rampage has always been good at reaction punches, so if he moves forward, he’s going to charge him and catch him like how he caught Chuck Liddell and how he caught Wanderlei Silva. That’s one of his strengths, if you pull back on Rampage, you’ll get caught all day.

That's what won Rampage the first two rounds. His constant aggression and moving forwards. Also what worked in his favour was Machida being afraid of the KO and not really remembering who he was until the 3rd round. But yeah, I think Rashad's just very honest in his opinions and likes to dissect fights as scientifically as possible. I do agree that other fighters who may have lost to an opponent in the fight they are predicting are indirectly hyping themselves up though.
