With all fighters there is a time that comes where protecting your belt / record / win streak, becomes more important than going out and doing what you do best, there is no doubt Sylvia is at his best going out to dominate fights and to put the other fighter on the back foot, in his last couple of fights I've noticed he seems to be taking more time looking for shots, but waiting just that little bit too long

It's the age old situation of having it all to lose and little to gain!

To be honest it could go either way, he could come out aggressive and hungry or worry that another performance like that could ruin his career / image and never be the same fighter, I think it would be the former but mentally that fight must have taken alot out of him

he isn't aggressive any more because he's not on steroids any longer. he's not as strong as he was, not as fast, and not as good--if he ever was. he's just not a good fighter and nobody wants to accept that. he has no actual skill and has never had a fight that you sit back and marvel at his performance. he's unspectacular and just not good.

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

That whole steroids making Sylvia his best thing is BS. Remember guy's, the NSAC tests all fighters in a title fight for ANY performence enhancers. Meaning of course that Sylvia was tested when he won the HW title from Ricco Rodriguez and he passed.

He only took the roids before his fight with Gan McGee, AFTER he had already demolished Cabbage and Ricco Rodriguez to win the UFC HW title.

Of course someone also brought up the Tra Telligman fight in which he almost killed Telligman was almost TWO YEARS after the steroid thing. Sylvia's aggression is mental and not physical (steroids).

I think he lost his agression because of 2 reasons.

1. The Belt ruined him, he loves it too much. He is afraid to take risks and would rather hide behind his jab for 25 minutes and grind out a decision. His fear of losing the belt was so great that he stopped taking risks all together.

2. He was on steroids in his early ufc days, without them he is a different fighter, and by different i mean worse.
