Plain and simple, Cain vs. JDS 2 at this point in time isn't interesting, it isn't an easy sell to very many fans which does not maximize PPV potential.

Mir is on a 3 fight win streak, not an impressive one but he's the best option out of the available fighters right now. The fact that his sub of Nog was good despite almost being knocked out and the fact that he is a former champion work in his favor.
Completely agree with this kid.

I would be up for Velasquez vs JDS if Velasquez at least had a couple of wins before hand, but it just isn't right to give a title shot to a guy coming off a loss. Specially a title loss.

Obviously Velasquez is faar more dangerous for JDS than Mir is, but he needs to 'send a message' first. I would actually even pick him in a rematch, to be honest. That belt will be swapping between the two every year.

If Cain and JDS had a 5 round hard fought war I would say yes, but JDS took care of Cain quickly the way JDS usually does so JDS should fight Mir.

thread fail for obvious reasons.

no one deserves a shot more than more. yes Mirs streak is not all that impressive - beating a paycheque collecting crop cop, a Fat over weight big country and Big nog when he should of been finished had of Nog used his brains rather then pride to control the fight.

Simply, no. Cain not only needs a win before he gets another shot against JDS, he needs a couple.

I have never been too excited for Cain. IMO opinion he has fought mediocre competition and was fed to the top. For those that say he KO's Big Nog, Mir did that first AND broke his arm. Than there are those that will say he beat Brock, the same guy that gave Brock his first lose (Brock by the way if you remove Herring and Kim was an astounding 3-3 in his career, looking really bad in his last 2.)It made a nice story line with the fan base the UFC is reaching for south of the border.

Mir on the other hand is on the 3 fight win streak as mentioned prior in the thread. Cro Cop is always dangerous, Nelson is a freak of nature (let me remind you that this guy took a BEATING from JDS and wouldn't go down. I want to him vs. Hunt, much more appropriate) and than he beat Big Nog. This business about how he almost got KO'd earlier in the round is nonsense. HE BROKE HIS ARM! Broke an arm of a guy who is a BJJ legend. If Reem is in fact out of the fight, which it doesn't look like the case, Mir is the most logical choice.

Had Cain have put on a close fight the first time then I could see the argument for an immediate rematch. Mir would be much more marketable for the UFC at this time right after his second destruction of Big Nog.

I cant believe anybody would want to see Cain fight JDS again so soon.

the first fight wasn't exactly competitive.

I HATE Mir, but he should fight JDS. Three straight wins. Cain didn't even last two minutes as champion, yet people should spend $55 to see a rematch of a free fight that ended in a minute? No.
