I wonder if they drug test for these competitions? Because really I can see weed being a performance enhancer in this competition

Still, I respect Diaz for jumping into the deep end.

Estima should take a decision while Diaz complains.

You are kidding right?

Has nothing to gain?

Nick Diaz is a huge name. Nick Diaz brings press to things that wouldn't get as much press. Braulio gets his name out there in a big way with this match. A match he should win.

There is more to gain for Braulio in my opinion.

Maybe if Braulio wins he gets his own forum campaign to fight JDS

Am I the only one that noticed Braulia has stated his intentions of giving MMA a go?

This is a fantastic publicity stunt for him as he is now linked to one of the most talked about MMA fighters. A win just throws his name out there and helps him get his potential MMA career off to a quick start.

I probably was being sarcastic in the above post. I think you should flame me for it.

Watch some of the early UFCs, like 1-8, the commentators provide a very good analysis of the pros and cons of use of the Gi in competition. There are many chokes in BJJ and Judo that REQUIRE the use of the Gi to either finish or set up a submission.

Diaz is a black belt in bjj isn't he? I'm not saying he will beat Estima, but he's no stranger to ground fighting.

Rashad Evans is also a black belt. See where I'm going with this?

Not really. Rashad is one of the most complete fighters in the sport. What's your point? Anderson Silva is a black belt as well. I think you may have misunderstood my post unless I'm not seeing the meaning of yours.

Yes, Diaz is a black belt, and a legit, solid one at that. The guy he is facing is a truly world class champion black belt. Let's pretend that there is such thing as a "striking" black belt. Some dude who trains for 10 years and is damned good is a "striking black belt" legitimately (I would call most mid to upper tier UFC fighters with "good stand up" a "striking black belt" for this analogy). He then steps in to fight Anderson Silva...
