The fact that no replacement has been announced tells me they're trying to work through the loops to get Overeem cleared. Usually they have a contingency plan, but it doesn't look like it at the moment. If I were Vadummy/M-1 I'd call UFC and go for it.
- ppv share
- $250,000 - $500,000
Eat the costs, cuz if FEDOR wins his stock would go back up. He has EVERYTHING TO GAIN. Everybody knows he's not in contention, but this is no ordinary situation. JDS has no opponent that's the bottomline. Who's going to sell...Mark Hunt isn't known. Mir deserves it, but is slated to face Cain. Werdum...he just lost to Overeem. Cain, nobody wants to see a rematch. Bigfoot just lost to Cormier. Fedor lost three fights in a row prior to his confidence booster wins...but he has one thing everybody else doesn't have and that's his branding.
If Fedor somehow came into the picture we'd look at 500,000ppvs. Not quite Brock numbers, but significantly larger than any other heavyweight out there.
Hype wise it'll sell. Any other replacement would be a bust. Think about it UFC basically bought out SF to get Overeem and Diaz. If M-1 doesn't act they've lost a perfectly good opportunity.

Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.
