Extremely stupid.

I bet everyone and their mom would want to sponsor Jones right now, but you don't do it if you're the organization he fights in, unless you do it with other fighters as well.

The UFC's really opening up a can of worms they may not wanna open and for a long time I've thought the UFC was a fair and unbiased organization but after the constant stand ups during Rumble/Belfort I don't believe that anymore.
I think the belfort rumble fight had some special remarks made to the referee, and I dont disagree with that. When i guy comes in 12 pounds over weight, and then the fight has to be changed to another division. It's certainly not fair to the fighter on the other end, especially if he was to take this said fight (which he did) and then the other fighter tries to use the weight to his advantage via grappling. Moral of the story, shit happens and if u make that shit happen be ready for shit to happen to you.

I don't get it.

No, it's more like:

"Hey Lorenzo, we have all this great merchandise we spend all this money to create but people keep buying that douchy tapout and affliction gear. How can we sell more of our stuff?"

"I got it, sponsor our hottest fighters. Jones has a fight coming up doesn't he? Sponsor him!"

Bam, done. Next objection?

Hmm... the UFC sponsoring a UFC fighter under a UFC contract on a UFC show. How does that work? I agree with some of the other posters, this doesn't seem fair towards Rashad and it's just not a classy thing to do. The UFC is a promoter that should concentrate on putting on a fair fight, not taking sides. Dana is putting all his eggs in Jon Jones' basket and pushing him as the new face on the company. Let's see how this works out for the UFC, but it does strike me as weird and unfair.

WTF. Seriously, WTF. I've seen a lot of head-scratchers in my time but this one's got me even more confused than usual. You're sponsoring your own fighter to wear your shit. Why? It does not make sense. Can't they just paint a few more UFC logos on the octagon canvas or something? And if the UFC is coming out with a clothing line, wouldn't it make more sense to hold a press conference where all your popular fighters show up wearing the clothes to pimp them?

This is gonnna go bad, what happens if the UFC decides to go all WWE and start selling there own clothing line and not allow clothing sponsors at all? Dislike. I don't want to see tacky "Cause Jon Jones says so" shirts in the 2 for $10 bin at WalMart.

I think he means like counting all fighters ever on the UFC's rosters. Think Jones is pretty much the only one in history that got this deal.

The UFC clearly wants Jones to win. He is a young talented fighter that can carry the sport for the next 7 plus years.
