Gone with a top 40. Have not included Hughes, Serra and Swick due to not knowing whether they will fight again.
Great list, I think your top five is pretty good. You forgot to rank Nick Diaz, who I can understand if people think he'll never fight again but if he's fighting his suspension that should tell you that he's still around. You also missed Dong Hyn Kim and Brian Ebersole, I know he's someone who people aren't high on but I do think he's a top 20 guy.

The biggest issue I have with your list is Paulo Thiago, Thiago Alves, and Martin Kampmann I think each guys between five to ten spots to high. Kampmann really shouldn't be ranked ahead two guys who beat him. I understand the Condit win was "big" but I think that had more to do with first fight jitters from Condit than Kampmann being that good. I think I would put him in the 12-15 range. I don't know if Thiago is a top twenty guy anymore he's 2-4 in his last six and I think he might be one loss away from retirement.

I think Paulo Thiago might be in that same range with Matt Brown and Amir Sahdollah far down the list. Thiago/Akiyama might be a really good fight for the loser to get released.

Apparently someone feels GSP isn't a top five guy now! I think Fitch is in the 6-10 range now, I don't think Hendricks is that good but he's ahead of Fitch. You also have Ellenberger and Diaz who should likely be ahead of him. And then the champions in GSP and Condit. Kos vs Fitch would be a very good fight right now with the winner being a top five guy and the loser having to work their way up.

Fitch has a loss and a draw in his last two and hasn't won a fight in almost 2 years. Shields dropped 2 of his last 3 and the lone win came over a guy who was already on a 3 fight losing skid. Honestly though I have always considered Kos the better of the AKA guys and think he is a better wrestler and a naturally better athlete than either Fitch or Shields. Fitch's record would keep him in the top 5 but lets be honest its a super competitive division and you need to win fights to stay at the top.

Not sure why people still rate Shields in the top 10. He has done NOTHING impressive in the UFC. Nothing.

And I know everyone and their momma thinks Rory is some God. But who has the kid beat yet? Can we woh it down a bit right now? He is 3-1 in UFC caliber fights. And his best win is Mike Pyle. Lets slow down a bit there. He needs at least 1 top 10 win for me to put him in the top 5.

TBh with Ebersole and Kim. I had them in the lit but as I nearly finished I realised I missed someone out(I'll add them in now). So in adding them in I must have deleted them. With Kampmann I think you are right that he is probably a little too high on the list. The only reason I put him over Sanchez/Shields is that he is he is on 2 fight win steak where as Diego is coming off a loss and Sheilds one win. Now with Alves I was considering putting him lower but I looked at some of the guys I would put him below(Pierce, Brenneman, Maia) and I can't help but think that he would beat them if they fought. As for Thiago mainly the reason I got him in the top 20 is that as alot of people says he always comes to fight and I think he just got caught in that loss to Siyar.

I think Thiago Alves's career is a myth.

His best win in the last 3 years is John Howard. He is 2-4 in the last 3 years.

If we want to go back to his best wins of his career....he beat Kos...who took the fight on like 2 weeks notice and looked bad.

He beat Hughes when everyone acted like it was something....but really Hughes was on the verge of becoming old and washed up. He beat a vulnerable Hughes before people realized he was past his prime.

Alves is a good fighter. But really, his career has been sort of average when you step back and look at it. He hasn't had a stoppage due to strikes since beating old man Hughes 4 years ago. His "vicious" striking is a bit overrated. His leg kicks are world class. But he really doesn't have any other kicks. And his hands are pretty average for a UFC fighter.

Har har!
You must have been smoking something out of Nick Diaz' pouch when you came up with this list. I'm not sure where to start the critiquing so I will leave it be.
