The whole they trained together thing is laughable. They barely spent any time at the same place and Bones is a completely different fighter now. Rashad probably has the best chance at 205 of beating Bones but it has nothing to do with training at the same gym for like 4 months 2 years ago. He just has a skillset that might be able to matchup well with the champ.
That being said even if Rashad is winning early he will do something arrogant/stupid and blow the fight. The way he put it into cruise control and let Davis hang around for eternity shows he hasn't learned anything. You can't screw around against elite fighters unless your name is Anderson Silva.

He got punched in the face and lost a round to one of the most unorthodox and unique strikers in MMA, the same man who handed Rashad his only career loss. He reacted a lot better to Machida's attack than Evans did obviously. Fighting is a mental game and Jones probably has thought about the fact he took Machida's punches better than Rashad did.
Jones knows how to come back and win a fight, Rashad does too not in Frankie Edgar fashion but both guys can say they have came back and won a fight they were losing, if Rashad has Jones in trouble early it'll likely be from takedowns and control like he did with Davis. If Jones gets Evans in trouble it'll be because of takedowns and some form of ground and pound like he did to Shogun, Rampage, and Machida.

I really need to watch Jones-Machida again by the sounds of it.
And stop bringing up Machida being a past opponent of Rashad. Has no part in Jones being mentally tested.

Rashad has always had confidence in himself. About the only fight that he was unsure was the fight that he lost against Machida. If the odds are as good as they say they are I might put some cheese down on Rashad. It's 60/40 Jones right now in my eyes, but I wouldn't count Rashad out.

Actually, lets stop spreading a myth. Jones won the first round, it was just amazing that Machida hit him:

Jones landed more strikes, more significant strikes, and had the only TD.

Jones won the fight and that's all that matters but he has been rattled before and he has came back, that's really all that matters when it comes to his mental game. He doesn't fold when he gets hit and I don't think he'll fold if/when Rashad hits him with a good shot.

Jones has taught me to stop questioning him, however Rashad could blast him given the chance. Should be a great fight regardless
