I don't think being funny is an excuse for slander.

Anyone who read that and doesn't know "to expect satire" would think that Dana is no different than Dream Stage Entertainment or Don King.

cagepotato should have a huge banner disclaimer that says "WE ARE FULL OF SH**. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR NEWS.
Usually when you read their news it is very clear that there is a humorous/satirical undertone all the way through...

If a satirical take on a news-story is such a terrible thing, how does www.theonion.com still exist?

Tho onion doesn't try to mix real news and opinion in with their jokes.

Cagepotato wants to have it both ways.

they're more like fox news than the onion

Well I guess you've got a point there... I still enjoy CP though, but I can see how some people might not be aware of their angle at first...

I love the onion, but they probably have a full time legal team.

The satirical newspaper The Onion may have gone a little too far with their “reporting” this morning, causing the Capitol Hill police to get involved.

IIRC the way the caption was shown there was literally no way to know that the "quote" didn't actually come from Dana White.

Very irresponsible.

They do have this Cagepotato banner that is kind of self-explanatory. At least in my view. Maybe there are some people who think a site that has potato in its name is 100% serious business but certainly not me.

It was inappropriate in the way that it was done. Defend them all you want, but it could easily have been mistaken for real news. Some folks are actually starting to believe the whole betting thing. Thats no bueno, Id be pretty pissed off to if I were DW or any other higher up in Zuffa. Cagepotato is shite anyhow, go to bloodyelbow or mmamania, much better sites imo.
