Would GSP/Silva get instant rematches?

If they lost their belts? Would it depend on how close the fights were? Would they automatically get it due to the length of their reigns? With Edgar getting a rematch with no rhyme or reason, anyone can. So I'm inclined to answer this question with "yes".

I think it depends. If they lose big with no controversy such as an illegal hit or PED's then no. If so then yes. If it is a razor thin decision such as Machida/Shogun or Edgar Penn I then probobly.

But if they get Kod, subbed, or dominated to a UD then no.

Many thought Edgar won or that he at least lost a split decision, plus you have to factor in him having to re-match twice.

Fav Fighters:
BJ
GSP
Askren
JDS

Shogun
Fedor
Hendo

There is lots of rhyme and reason for Frankie Edgar getting his rematch namely because he fought so many. Silva, at his age, would probably just take on fights that interested him as he has nothing to prove by getting the belt. GSP is in a stacked division so if he lost to Condit I wouldn't have thought he'd get an automatic rematch. Of course it depends upon the fight. A close decision (Edgar v Henderson) is more likely to get a rematch. If GSP lost I'm sure they would do all they could to get him v Diaz.

Because that would change something?

If it went to a decision, definitely. Machida/Shogun set the standard where if a fight is even slightly close, there has to be an instant rematch. Which is bullshit. Edgar and Penn never, ever deserved an instant rematch. They were even going to give Sonnen an instant rematch before he got suspended for lack of disclosure. ****, even Diaz was going to get one too before he got busted. This abudance of instant rematches is retarded and needs to stop. Instant rematches should be rare, not considered after every single title fight that goes the distance.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

Depends on the fight.

If Sonnen had beat Silva, Anderson getting a rematch would have been an outrage, and if Condit stops GSP he shouldn't get a rematch until he wins a few.

Some fights deserve it, Machida/Shogun 1 could have gone either way, Ben Henderson/Frankie Edgar is another example of MMA as sport vs. MMA as cage fighting. Edgar/Penn 1 didn't warrant one though.

GSP....no, GSP would fight and earn his title shot no questions asked. Hell he might forfeit the belt just so he can beat the sense into Diaz.

Silva...yes, If Sonnen wins I'm sure we'll get the rubber match. Hell I can see it right now a Street fight on the mean streets of West Linn Oregon, CM Punk will be the special time keeper, Dan Henderson the referee. On each of the street lights a syringe of "hormones", ladders, flaming tables, and TIGERS coming out of the ground Gladiator style.

Also, if they start crying in every interview and start kissing A***'s for sure they will get a rematch!

BUT: would Silva or GSP loose their pride for such a thing?

Honestly? Don't think so. It's sport to these men more than anything else!!!

Do you really think that Sonnen will win Silva and his own BACKYARD???? Sonnen nearly lost to Brian in his last match and he showed terrible performance.

From 100 that Sonnen wins, I give him "0.0001"

Sonnen hardly lost to Brian Stann, he steamrolled him. You're thinking of the Bisping fight where he out-struck and out-grappled Bisping all three rounds. People completely overreacted to that fight just because Chael said Bisping's punches hurt.
