Rashad fought at HW so he must be fairly big (even tho he probably lost some fat/mass since then)

he'd be definitely a top 5 if not top 3 at MW, Rashad/Chael or Rashad/Bisping would be awesome match ups. He'd probably get tooled by Anderson like everyone else tho. I thought about it yesterday, I think Silva could finish Jones within the first 2 rounds, he would have no problem fighting Evans IMO. although...

Jones' upperbody is a bit bigger, but compare their lower bodies and you'll see why Rashad walks around at about 220lbs. Rashad's mass is all on his lower body, which are where the largest muscle groups are. With Jones, it's the other way around, hence why Rashad is heavier than Jones. Rashad himself has said he has the upperbody of welterweight but the lower bod of a Heavyweight.

Yeah, I agree, he has Shogun type legs which it is always so disappointing that he doesn't throw more leg kicks. With that much mass at the speed he can move, it would be destructive.

Doesn't surprise me, no. that's one of the reasons the LHW guys are having such a hard time with him. His frame is that of a fairly large HW, yet he doesn't carry the mass of those guys. He's 6'4" with the reach of a teradactyl.
As an example, Junior dos Santos is 6'4" with a 77" reach. JBJ is the same height but his reach is 84". That's a 7 freakin' inch reach advantage over a very good boxer at HW.
Overeem is 6'5" with an 81' reach and he weighs in the mid 260's I think.
So you've got a really skinny, really athletic, very quick heavyweight masquerading as a LHW in Jon Jones. No wonder he is able to see things, reach things, and use leverage that others at LHW can't.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hatin'. I say if you can make that weight then fight there.
I just want to see someone challenge him! Lyoto put up the best fight I think, potentially winning the first round of their fight and I think he did test Jones' chin a bit. ....it passed.

I suspect that as JBJ continues to mature physically he'll be forced to step up to HW where he may get out-muscled by some of the donkeys there, but I think it will probably be someone like JDS who first finds his "off button".

I think Jones is a special physical specimen and athlete and I look forward to watching him progress over the next few years.

Yeah and that's why he's a monster. Cain is exactly the same way and that's why even though he weighed 40 pounds less than Lesnar (who has a massive upper body) Lesnar couldn't control Cain or keep him down. Tyson was knocking fools out mainly because of his speed and massive legs (and of course tech). Power generates from the ground first.
