The argument against PEDs is simple. Allow them and it becomes a competition between biochemists, where the athletes themselves are secondary. Kinda like F-1, but replace the Automotive companies with Pharmaceutical companies.

As always a good laugh...it would be interesting that's for sure. I agree with Wandy at 205. He was an absolute monster before!

He has a point about PRIDE. One I have made on numerous occasions. People have a shit-ton of nostalgia for the PRIDE days, and whether they know it or not, Steroids was a big part of that. They just were, and it is, what it is.

You either have power or you do not. Steroids big advantage has to do with their remarkable recovery capabilities. One would have to experience it (I have) to understand just how well they work. They could also give you a mental advantage. But in PRIDE, every fighter was on them in one way or another. Fighting multiple times in one night? Steroids help. Many also took medicated injections (NFL players still take them before games) to block out pain.

Not to add fuel to the fire because I am a massive fan of all that will be mentioned but Wandy, Shogun, Fedor obviously aren't the same fighters that they were back in pride. I know some might do a "huh" at the mention of Fedor but even though he was pudgy in both eras you cannot deny the difference in power and muscle mass when comparing his pride physique and his post pride physique.

That's why I rather not think about it

well I can't say I'm surprised at his position, coming from a meathead like Baroni. The guy is 14-14 in his career, and doesn't have one win against a relevant opponent - and he's probably been juicing for all 28 fights.

So you can hit harder and defend yourself better. Everybodies equal again.

Bring on the steroids.

this idea is dumb because it will soon require anyone who wants to compete at the top levels to take steroids... i understand some guys have a hard time building muscle but that just means they should fight at lower weight classes..

honestly i dont care if guys take the roids, if they are able to pass the current testing then so be it... but what is proposed here whould eventually lead to everyone needing to use the roids to keep up and that is detrimental to the sport...

You can't just let them take what ever they want. There are these things called laws and they have a few about PED's being illegal if I recall.

This dude is comletely ridiculous. But I suppose most everyone allready knows that.

A lot of the argument against roids is setting an example. IF roids are the standard then everyone who wants to have a fair shot at competeing has to do something extremely harmful to their body and possibly become hooked on a substance.
