I don't like any of it. It's all fake nonsense to me, whether it's Allah, Cthulhu or anything of the sort.

Not to say they can't do it. They can say and do whatever they want, I just think it's a joke.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

Guys lets keep the peace in this thread.

I don't have a problem with a fighter being from any religion. In my opinion a mans religion is his own business. While I might not respect religion, I do respect his right to believe whatever it is he wants to believe.

fck. i was p*ssing with the thread rating system and i have given my thread 5/5 and dont know how to get rid of it.

i think the main point from the question is that we believe that we are liberal when it comes to the freedom of expression of religion, and if we are religious then we support it.

but in both cases, the religion being expressed on the mic is usually christianity and jesus.

fighter A usually says - jesus sponsored them to beat up fighter B. this concept in itself would send bill hicks spinning, but we grown or cheer and move on, secure that we live in a world where its classed as free expression. my point tho, is that in reality a lot of us atheist "religion liberals" are just desensitized and a lot of us theistic "religious expression supporters" are not really pro expression, but are basically just pro jesus.

we dont run into a culture conflict that often, as atheists dont really thank newton and einstein on the mic. and the religion that is being expressed is usually christianity.

if a muslim fighter beat someone silly and then started a hendo/bendo esque speech about how "all things are possible through the teachings of the prophet muhammed pbuh, and can i get an allahu akbar!" then we might need to have a paradigm shift before a chair hit us.

who knows? siyar is not a poster boy for anything other than being proud of where he is from though. and the poll is eeirily even at 3 votes each for all 4 options.

all opinions welcome. thank you.

All religions are bullsh!t but Islam is on another level of bullsh!t. If a Muslim fighter started with the whole "Allahu Akbar" speech after a fight, it would turn a lot of people off. Jon Jones' Christians speech is bad enough so I definitely don't want to hear that Muslim crap!

If I ran the UFC, I would ban the fighters from ANY religious speech in the octagon.

I swear religion is the root of all evil in the world. Today, at least 16 Nigerian Christians were killed my Muslims. Why didn't God save his people or why didn't Allah stop his people from killing others. Oh I forgot, God gave us free will...it's all madness!!!

BTW, if I deleted a pdf version of the Koran from my PC, do I deserve to be killed?

siyar is a ufc fighter. and his quotes are directly about expression of religion. a big part of his story is where he is coming from. meanwhile, the ufc is an org where every second fighter thanks jesus. there is no relevancy issue.

lets not get into how many americans have killed innocent muslims in the last ten years...

you point is a bit myopic condsidering you are assuming the stance of a neutral.

but more to the point, this thread will derail fast if it starts being about things outside the octagon.

the reality is that it seems fair to be pro freedom of expression when it comes to all religion or anti. by supporting the propagation of one religion you are turning the ufc into a christian book company.

i know your position is to ban all of it. i am just highlighting the inherent contradiction involved in being pro expression so long as its christian. its kind of like being pro ice cream and then puking at everything other than vanilla.

we have fighters thanking jesus in every second fight. why shouldnt a muslim one thank his god. and if we were to have a visceral reaction to that little spoon full of diversity, then surely we are the barbarians and not them...
