Heavyweights Travis Browne and Ben Rothwell join UFC on FOX 4 lineup
Quote:
A heavyweight bout between Travis Browne (13-0-1 MMA, 4-0-1 UFC) and Ben Rothwell (32-8 MMA, 2-2 UFC) is the latest addition to this summer's UFC on FOX 4 fight card.
UFC officials announced the fight overnight.
Although not officially announced, the network-televised UFC on FOX 4 event is expected to take place Aug. 4 at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
In addition to the FOX-televised main card, FUEL TV is expected to carry the prelims. It's not clear where Browne vs. Rothwell will be placed on the lineup.
The undefeated Browne looks for one of the biggest victories of his career. The Greg Jackson-trained fighter has made a steady ascent up the heavyweight rankings following UFC victories over James McSweeney, Stefan Struve, Rob Broughton and Chad Griggs (and a draw with Cheick Kongo). "Hapa" earned a $65,000 "Submission of the Night" bonus with his arm-triangle-choke win over Griggs this pastmonth at UFC 145.
Rothwell, meanwhile, recently picked up his biggest win in years with a 70-second "Knockout of the Night" stoppage of Brendan Schaub at UFC 145. The longtime IFL fighter has been slowed by injuries in recent years by showed up in remarkable shape for his latest bout. He's now .500 in the UFC, where he's suffered losses to Cain Velasquez and Mark Hunt while picking up a victory over Gilbert Yvel.

I like the Mtch up. I'll go with Browne here. But if Rothwell improves over his last fight, especially physique wise he could give Hopa a challenge. Rothwell has a great chin and some serious power. I'll take Browne via TKO 2

I feel sorry for Browne, the guy is 4-0-1 in the UFC with 3 finishes, undefeated in his career and people still treat him like a scrub. I think he takrs this and could he the.most underrated fighter in the UFC

Brown earned a special place in my heart when he beat down McSweeny. I think he beats Rothwell, should be a great fight.

I think Browne wins this but he is in a win win situation; where as Rothwell could well be unemployed with another loss. Both will be fighting like they have something to prove... If Rothwell comes in looking as good or better than his last fight this will definately be worth watching.

Meh he's being worked up slow and Rothwell isn't a chump. K.O.ed Shcaub who was considered a top up and comer. He omeother Solid wins and lots of experience and now it seems Ben is getting in better shape.
Browne should take it easily tho and get a top 10 guy next.

Great fight, Browne's physicality and creative, powerful attack against Ben's power and toughness. Both have a varied game but will probably bang.
I dont pick a fighter purely on youth and athleticism like some do, I picked Ben to KO Schaub in the 1st, but I reckon Travis got this.
