I was in the minority picking Belcher vs. Palhares... but I knew he could pull it off. The eye injury threatened his career, but didn't stop him.

People keep bringing up the Sexiyama & Cote fights but thats in the past, he's definitely improving his game and will 100% be a force in the division.

The guy is young and if he stays active/healthy, he'll be top 5, I'm sure of that.

Here's to a gentleman and a scholar.... Alan Belcher

I don't buy into Belcher's self-hype, or Joe Rogan's fanboyism. Belcher is good. Quite good. But I'd not yet rank him alongside the elite of the division, as he simply hasn't proven it.

I'd match him up with Okami, just to see where he truly stands in the division. Despite the loss to Boetsch, Yushin is a tremendous test for most MWs.
Belcher lost a UD to Okami already. Granted, it was 2006....

I had no idea that fight already happened. I'll have to watch it ASAP.

I always knew Alan Belcher was a great fighter, and he has always been on my favorite lists to root for. I was worried for him in this fight because I (like everyone else) was thinking he'd get mangled on the ground.

When he almost landed the twister on Paul Harris, that's when I knew that he was safe on the ground. It blew my mind because Paul Harris wasn't able to escape right away, and at one point I think he had it locked in but he lost it.

Once he got on top, I saw the quit in Paul Harris' eyes. I had my jaw on the floor and I couldn't speak.

My buddy who's also a really big MMA fan says he can beat Andy. And I can't even argue with him.

Belcher is solid but he'll have to do something besides beat the grossly overhyped Palhares in order to get a title shot.

Would love to see him fight Vitor.

Yeah he looked really average against Cote when he picked him up, dumped him on his head like a sack of potatoes and choked his shit out (sorry Toxic lol).

This. Not trying to take anything away from Belcher, rolling with Palhares on the ground was impressive. But up until this fight, everyone thought so highly of Palhares that they were really surprised seeing Belcher beat him.

I'd say Vitor would crush Belcher.
