yeah he may not have the hardest chin but he has great recovery time... however so does cain and we all saw how that went.

more on topic, yes he has a minute reach advantage and potentially more power, but at his current size he loses a lot of his speed and he has never had JDS accuracy...

if he can execute a proper power double he should be able to take this, if he tries to clinch he is just gonna burn himself out with takedown attempts.. i hope mir wins but he hasnt proven that he has the wrestling to to make that a realistic outcome...

ill bet he is training rigorously on his kick boxing, when in reality he should be training his wrestling and takedowns...

After reading the thread I began to wonder if Mir had ever been KO'd on his feet. I don't think he has, it seems to be gnp everytime. If that's the case maybe he can lure JDS to the ground. He has lost by submission before.

Im surprised so many of you think Frank Mir punches harder then JDS. Technique increases someones power or it deflates that power. There is no way Frank has better technique when throwing a punch then JDS does. Speed also affects the power of a punch and JDS definitely punches faster. To sum it up i believe JDS punches faster and harder then Frank Mir ever will.

To say a fighter that has been in the UFC and has become champion twice doesnt have technique is kind of pushing it. Frank mir actually has great technique in his punches - his biggest setback is his ability to roll with them and his footwork which are both essential in connecting with them and dodging the opponents.

I'm kind of torn here. I like Mir. I thought the match up with Cain was a great fight for Frank. On one hand I think that Mir is one of the most intelligent fighters in the UFC. On the other hand I also think that he is one of the most arrogant. The later should prove to be his Achilles heal in this fight. Thinking that he can stand and bang with JDS is not a wise decision. There is no way that he can stand and trade punches with Cigano. JDS is too fast and accurate. Although Frank has shown quick recovery time after being rocked, that want matter in this fight. JDS is extremely quick to jump on his opponent when they are down. He's certainly not going to stop the GnP and try a submission attempt. He will swarm on Mir and beat him down for the TKO.

Because obviously i was pointing out that Technique increases the power of a punch and pointing out that JDS has better technique.

SPEED also affects the power of a punch and its obvious that JDS punches faster.

So i was using those 2 things to support my opinion that JDS punches harder then Mir.

I have a feeling you are trying to start problems... which im not sure why. You read something that wasnt there and its okay it happens. Just say "Oh sorry i read it wrong" and move on. No big deal...
