Well, for someone who punches in slow motion Carwin sure has Kod a lot of his opponants. I was simply pointing out that Carwin, who has KOd a lot of his opponants, could do nothing with JDS because of his superior speed and technique.
And Overeem is not exactly known for his speed. JDS would give him problems.

Two things that concern me with that video:
1. JDS kept moving to his right, which makes him open to a straight left hand.
2. His lead foot was constantly inside of the lead foot of the opponent.
90% of the battle during striking with an open stance is the lead foot. The person with theirs on the outside has the better angle and power and Mir is a southy like the person in the video. Granted, Mir's striking is not as crisp as this guy, but Mir has shown solid power in his left hand.

Thanks, I was going for comedy. I'm rooting for JDS by the way, I lost my voice when JDS beat Cain. I just made an analysis, not a prediction.

Old video, put that boxer in the Octagon with JDS and expect a very different fight.
You can't possibly use traditional boxing in MMA and win fights consistently, 'tis the reason we watch MMA, because no single martial art works on its own against all other martial arts.
People bang on about the boxing of JDS, Diaz Bros, Anderson Silva etc, and these guys would be great boxers if they specialized in it. But when their hands win them a fight, it is not boxing, its being a good enough MMA fighter to the point that opponents have to play their preferred game.
JDS is not a boxer.

Great post. I agree.
That said JDS has the best boxing in the HW and some of the best in MMA.

Are you talking about how a lesser striker like Werdum was so afraid that he actually outstruck Overeem? Or what?
People don't seem to understand that boxing isn't in MMA. Not true boxing. No one is going to stand like a boxer unless there is ZERO threat of a TD. The whole striking stance has to be changed for MMA. Striking in general has to be changed.
There is no real boxing in MMA. JDS throws great hands and is an MMA fighter. Ifhe tried to truly box guys he would get taken down.
