Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson title fight headlines UFC 151 in Las Vegas
Quote:
As expected, UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones (16-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) and Dan Henderson (29-8 MMA, 5-2 UFC) will headline UFC 151 on Sept. 1.
UFC president Dana White officially announced the title fight via Twitter and said it'll take place in Las Vegas.
The UFC boss first hinted at the likely date for Jones vs. Henderson this past week.
No venue has been announced for the title fight, which will air on pay-per-view. FX and Facebook are expected to carry the prelims.
Jones, who's quickly emerged as one of MMA's biggest stars, earned a unanimous-decision victory over Rashad Evans at UFC 145. It marked his seventh straight win, his fourth consecutive victory over a former UFC champ, and his third consecutive title defense. It also cemented his status as one of the sport's top pound-for-pound fighters.
Henderson, meanwhile, is on a 7-1 run that includes fights at middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. The heavyweight win came over Fedor Emelianenko under the Strikeforce banner. After re-signing with the UFC, Henderson then topped light heavyweight Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in a "Fight of the Year" performance at UFC 139. Since then, he's waited on the sidelines for his promised title shot.
UFC 151 comes three weeks after UFC 150 in Denver and three weeks prior to UFC 152 in Toronto.

Most likely Hendo gets mauled but you never know, he's always got a chance with the H-Bomb.

Hendo's camp already is talking about getting guys in with JBJ like reach and height to practice, their game plan is to cut the cage off and make it so that JBJ doesn't have all the space he wants/needs. If they can do it he stands a real chance, but as Rampage says, 'Once you get in here and he starts reaching those long hands out it's hard to find your range'.

I don't think the H bomb will be able to stop jones and his wrestling will not be a factor against him either

Dan isn't going to be able to get in good range to land any "H-bombs". His only chance of winning is to close the distance and clinch with Jones to try and grind out a victory with dirty boxing and Greco wrestling a la Randy Couture in his heyday.

UFC street mugging . its a good thing jones isnt at cageside, because with his history, if he were watching instead of competing, hed probably wind up chasing himself.
jones by ugly, bloody confirmation of everything stormfront fears and red blooded wrassle fan america hates.
if you are a god fearing, bisping ko gif posting red neck it will be like watching this dude
bitch slapping your father unconscious and then fcking your own mother in front of you. prison style. should be hilarious.

Good luck with that, Hendo.
The longest reach in boxing is about 90 inches. Thats one dude: Julius Long. After him you have Valuev at around 87 and then all the rest are 85 and below. But when you look at the list, there are not many boxers at all *anywhere* with reach over 83.
I'm not sure people appreciate just how absolutely ridiculous Bones reach is. Its freakish. I shudder at the thought of how far his legs can reach:
In closing Dans arms are 13.5 inches shorter then Jones. If he gets within range for his "h-bomb" hes going to be in perfect range for elbows to his head. This isnt boxing. Fighting in the pocket against somebody like Bones is like asking to eat elbows or get a knee in the ribs.
