First of all, Madden is easily the shittiest excuse for a football game I've ever played. They literally have not fixed the crippling issues in that game since 2005 and continue to patch the rosters, add a few cosmetic changes and sell a heap of shit for 60 dollars every year. That includes the NCAA series as well. I pirated that for the 360 and tried the speed running back and you have him routinely being chased down by defensive ends...you have fullbacks completely whiffing on blocks on a down by down basis, and several players standing around like their A.I is bugged.

I never got around to playing the NHL game, but the FIFA series has been very mediocre....certainly not bad but nothing special either and the FN games have been awful since round 2 on last gen's consoles. Literally no innovation or intuitiveness, and the series has completely stagnated in mediocrity...

Secondly, none of those games were developed by EA, EA simply bought out those development companies and earned the publishing rights. Because of that, I pirate everything EA makes..since I'm boycotting them.

EA Tiburon is an absolute cesspit and everything they touch turns to feces.

Fifa is good! 2k Sports are a better company by far though. They've got great titles like the NBA 2k series and Top Spin BUT Don King Prizefighting was one of the worst games i've ever played in any genre, it was so so robotic.

2K isn't much better. Sure the 2K series has been good, but that game has a mindbogglingly large amount of problems with it and they don't release patches.

I'll give them a pass if 2K13 is good. The problem with 2K is that they claim to be a basketball sim and yet create absolutely bogus game and A.I mechanics in order to make the gameplay the way they feel it should be. I personally blame the "per year" format....it's very, very rushed and I feel like it's probably the main reason they end up putting such obviously rushed garbage in the games...for example, 2K probably didn't like how easy it was to get offensive rebounds against the computer in 2K11, so in 2K12 they put bogus inviisble forcefields to make the A.I block outs "super perfect" which means it actually goes beyond what if physically possible. 2K thinks that we are too stupid to realize that the player hit an invisible wall when he tried to shoot a gap to the offensive glass when HIS man literally jumped into the air to help block a teammates shot, only to be somehow magically blocked out by a dude who is still airborne.

And this goes on and on and on within the game. 2K didn't like the pick and roll cheese, so instead of fixing it by making better collision physics, they simply have it so the roll man doesn't properly roll to the basket anymore. 2K felt it was too easy to drive, so they allow the computer to play super defense where they react sharply to every input you make with ridiculous recovery speed regardless of quickness and speed stats, then finally, they complement this with awful foul sliders where 70 percent of the time the computer will foul you and get a no call or a block. The AI also runs terrible offensive sets, so to counterract this, they allow the computer to cheese threes and morph through the player to get good shots, as well as the games physics not applying to the A.I like it does to the player.

Again, better than Madden and the other garbage EA puts out, but still annoyingly flawed....2K13 will be make or break for me...if they don't fix this stuff I'm done with 2K too because they got just as complacent with the virtual monopoly on basketball that EA got with football.

Yeah.. come to think of it the NBA Games have always been quite buggy. I haven't played in a while but I remember throughtout all of the titles you could block a shot or have your shot blocked and the player that blocks the shot doesn't even get close to swatting it. I also seem to remember some dunks that glitch out. Their association mode is really good though.

EA Tiburon is an absolute cesspit and everything they touch turns to feces.

EA's sports are nothing more than rehashes from older games, and their other games (I say their as in, the companies they bought out) have lost substantial quality in their games since being under the EA banner.

EA the company is completely off-base to what needs to be in the gaming market, most of their games are crap or are lower quality than they used to be before they bought them, or rehashes of the same game year after year - they are a cancer among games and the future of gaming in general.

In other words, I agree.

On the bright side, I don't play games anymore, and if I do it'll probably be some old school Super Mario 64 and other old school N64 games..and maybe some Minecraft on PC..so the hell with it.

Don't really care. Indy development is the way to go, but for the rest of you mooks, enjoy your alwways online cloud gaming, no access to modding, lack of physical copies or anything resembling real ownership, and ridiculous overpriced DLC in the next several years.

Good, then get out of a thread about gaming and get on with your mature non-gaming life big guy.

Now that I can finally get on a PC to type my feelings about this. I am very happy about this news. You guys can hate EA all you want, their sports developers are top notch. FIFA is a greatly improved game every year, and Fight Night is an extremely polished game with great mechanics, physics and graphics. EA MMA was my favourite MMA game by far over the UFC games. I loved the stick striking and the ground game wasn't AS shitty as the Undisputed titles.

There was very few flaws I found in the EA title. The first being the fighters moved way too fast on the feet. It felt like an arcade game in that aspect. The second being the roster. Obviously, joining with the UFC now means they will have the best roster possible and hopefully a larger budget to develop with.

You guys are saying it's going to be shit based on a bunch of games made by different divisions of the company. What you think the people working on Dead Space and Medal of Honour sit beside eachother? lol

EA Sports has always been top notch and their fighting division has excelled with Fight Night and their fluid stick controls.

I for one am excited.

THQ has annoying standup. People complain about EA MMA's footwork, but at least the stand up damage is realistic. Example, on undisputed, if an online player has better stand up than you, and you can't take them down, you have 2% chance of winning. Reason being, you can't get flash ko's until you damage their head a lot, barring a ko moment which doesn't mean anything, because even the worst players can survive a ko moment 30 seconds into the fight. It's unrealistic that you can land 4 hooks flush with Carwin, and potentially not even wobble a guy. On EA, flash ko's within seconds can happen. I was Brett Rogers once online and I dropped my opponent early and swarmed him, but he survived. I let him back up and just tee off on him because I'm clearly kicking his ass, but then I leaned in carelessly because I felt no danger and he landed a clean right hook on my guys jaw. Knocked my guy out one punch when I hadn't previously gotten hit at all because it was timed perfectly. At least on this game, the lesser striker still has a punchers chance. It's a good challenge that always keeps the game competitive, even when you are gifted an easy match up. Of course it depends on your fighters power. On undisputed, you need to land that punchers chance about 20 times to be able to get a "flash" ko. It gives the more novice players very little chance of beating the guys who are always online. You may think quick flash ko's are unfair, but they are realistic and teach you to use more defense. It really isn't that hard to avoid in the game if you aren't careless. I like to have a realistic fight in an MMA game, and flash knock outs (without having to get the opponents head in the red zone) are apart of realistic MMA. It shows that the better striker doesn't always win which is true, and it makes games more unpredictable because that's what MMA is, unpredictable.

Ea's stand up is better (besides footwork), career mode is better, and both ground games suck. Undisputeds career would only be better if they brought back post fight interviews and expanded that area. Stupid getting rid of them all together in the first place. Career mode is just boring on Undisputed 3.

Also, EA will obviously try even harder on this game since it's a franchise. It's first UFC game will probably be 5 times better than EA MMA.

They were all terrible with the exception of 2009 which was close to perfect from a competetive fighting standpoint.

I doubt the servers are still up though sadly.
