How an interim belt works is you don't hold up the division.
Knowing back in February that GSP at the earliest wouldn't be ready until October or November...why would he choose to sit out? Why wouldn't he fight Ellenberger, Hendricks, or Kampmann this summer (still giving him half a year since his last fight) and then fight GSP in the winter around Christmas when we all KNOW he will be ready?
Why couldn't he do that? If he believes he is some legit champ with a legit belt...why wouldn't he be wanting to defend it badly?
There was enough time since February to fight once before GSP. Kampmann, Hendricks, and Ellenberger have been fighting their asses off...fighting twice since Condit has sat on his ass.
Condit is a flip flopper. First he thinks he won the Diaz fight and said he doesn't see why they would rematch. His camp says they AREN'T interested in that rematch. Then a week later he is interested? WHen news was about to break that there was a failed test?
Then he says he will wait for Georges after Diaz was suspended. But fast forward to now...he says he would fight Kampmann...who is in surgery.
He is a flip flopper with what he says.
In the end he is wasting our time and will spend nearly a year sitting out with no injury to speak of.
He sat out waiting for his last fight and all Primetime show they said "Carlos has waited enough" "he has trained for half a year waiting" "it is time he fights...he just wants to fight".
So if you waited that long just last fight? Why would you settle for waiting now? Why wouldn't you be asking to ******* fight....if you are going to act like you are some guy who will fight anyone?
By the time September hits he will have fought once in the last 14 months. That is pathetic.
