Insight on Chael Sonnen

This discussion is from last month but I havent seen it posted on this site, and is very insightful into Sonnen outside the octagon where he is not trolling.
This is in contrast to all his interviews where he is just trolling to get attention and hate.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=UjHCLcNDQqI

the video is about 2.5 hours but is very informative and here's the highlights:
they talk about different supplements to use
- testosterone levels like in Overeem's case
- worked fights in Pride and Pancrase like Wanderlei and Cro Cop, as well as Severn vs. Shannon Ritch
- Sonnen giving respect to Nogueira for being tough, as well as other fighters he bashed like Fedor, Wanderlei and Cro Cop and even Mike Tyson
- Talk about Mike Tyson's show where it's mentioned Brad Pitt was going out with Tyson's current gf and he confronted him
- about liking Brazil in retrospect, but was scared for his life while being there
- Chris Leben stories
- Sonnen being a sociologist, and a politician
- talk about bigfoots (NOT Antonio Silva)and sasquatch
- talk about aliens
- talk about bullying in schools
- Russian caviar

He also talked about how tough his partner Dan Henderson is, and I'm wondering how their match would go right now (I got Henderson by KO)

Hmm, 164 minutes of Chael... That sounds about as appealing as watching "Manos - the hands of fate" and "The castle of Fu Manchu" back-to-back.

Interesting hearing his comeback story. How, in the middle of his career, he went from being a virtual unknown to a top ranked fighter.

I alwas thought and have read that Chael was nice guy when he was out of character and only uses his character to peyote himself and get in other fighter's head.

You gotta remember he was locked in the WEC together with Brian Stann, Carlos Condit, Donald Cerrone and Jamie Varner who were all apparently underrated before coming to the UFC. You could make the same statements about them.

His wrestling background which he uses alot and his camp helped him alot in achieving victories in the UFC. The Marquardt fight was a surprise though I also predicted him losing by submission.

This is from the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast.. He did one recently with Faber. And from a HUGE Anderson Silva fan, I quite enjoyed the podcast. I've grown very tired of Sonnen's antics when hyping a fight but he's an intelligent guy and when not being a troll, can be very good to listen to.

This was posted and had a decently sized thread for it.

That said yes it was a great podcast. This should be merged with the other thread.

Just about as interesting as every other steroid story.
