$27,000 dollars put's him in the 30th percentile, 40-60 thousand is what most american's earn a year. 90th percentile is like $150,000 a year, which he many very well earn from sponsorships.

Wow, I didn't know salaries in the US were so high... is that before or after taxes? Over here it's 40.000€ before taxes which is about 30.000€ after taxes (median including all the rich guys).

He doesnt have a regular job. He is a professional athlete who fights on TV. Its like comparing apples and oranges.

I wouldnt mind these pays if the UFC took part in paying peoples training camps. Not only might it reduce injuries if these guys could afford the best training like other sports BUT they would put on better performances which is what the UFC basically demands. And it would make these salaries look alot more fair.

"You make 50k a year for 3 fights and have your training paid for, you should not be complaining. And if you can take advantage of your position and win fights then you could make a few 100k a year."

Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Before taxes, you also have to factor in a higher cost of living. I wonder how much of McCall's 8 grand is taxed which could be anywhere from 20-50%.

Im not 100% on this but i think i recall Dana White saying that they pay the taxes already so what you see is what you get. But he might have been referring to the Fotn,Sotn,Kotn bonuses.

As i said... im not 100% on this.
