I like both guys.

I honestly think that the Boetsch fight will make Yushin fight even more defensive than usual, but Palhares will be aggressive so I think Yushin will be forced to fight without the shield he puts up.

I think Okami should take a close UD here.

I doubt Okami wants ANYTHING on the floor with treestump. I don't care how good your wrestling is, the floor is lava when fighting Palhares. If he takes him down, mark my words, he will be submitted with the swiftness. Standing he should win, but Palhares has crazy power and could catch him if he isn't extremely careful. This is either going to be fireworks from Rousimar or a slow, methodical beating from Okami. I'm excited either way

Good test for Palhares..Okami is big and strong, I think a lot will depend on how mentally strong he is on the night.

Okami straight folded against Silva..he may do the same against Palhares out of fear of the leglock, who knows.

Anyway, I really want Palhares to get it together and become a steady well rounded fighter so that I can see him fight all the top guys, he bring excitement and would love to see him against guys like Chael and Vitor at some point.

It's good to see the UFC provide us with an injury replacement that makes the fight all the more awesome and intruiging. So many good fights have been made mediocre or pointless due to an injury replacement that just doesn't generate any kind of buzz with MMA fans.

You do realize fighters have been on the floor with Palhares and not been submitted, right? Belcher, Miller, Horn and Henderson all dealt with Pauls sub game. Basically, the 4 best guys he's fought in the UFC.

We need to get past this idea that anybody who goes to the mat with Palhares gets submitted. That's simply not true. The list of guys he *has* submitted in the UFC is a big old list of nobodies.

Reluctantly, I have to accept, that as entertaining as Harris is... he's not very good.

Easily? Okami has great grappling skills and Palhares does take often takedowns.. I mean he usually dives for a leg or pulls guard..

This guy's ground game is not automatic, hitting the floor with him isn't lava, if it was then how did Dan Henderson, Alan Belcher, and Nate Marquardt survive? Now he's going in there with a guy whose actually competed at ADCC and went to a decision with Maia in pure BJJ?

Here's the reality about Palhares, look at his record, only one guy he's beat is still with the UFC and he doesn't even fight at 185 anymore. This guy is the definition of a can crusher and I fully expect Okami to pound out a gassed Palhares in the first.

The only time his ju-jitsu is "automatic" is when he fights people who suck at MMA.

LL, when you leave out the insults you hit a lot of nails right on their heads.

If someone would just read these posts to stumpy there could be hope for him one day.

I think part of Palhares' image as this uber-deadly groundfighter is on the one hand his looks (you can't denial that he just looks like a force of nature) and on the other hand, maybe more important, that he really goes full force for his submissions. He is all the time active at at least trying to submit the other guy. That has become quite rare at MW and above. Look at former submission artist Demian Maia. If I remember correct, instead of turning the fight into a grappling match after hitting the floor with Weidman he used his BJJ to stand up again. Palhares still tries to submit. So even though he doesn't submit everyone on the fly, he puts all of his opponents at least in danger to be submitted by him.
