On the MMA hour Brian Ebersole said he was dropping to 155lbs after his fight with Waldburger this weekend.

He said he wants Jim Miller, Clay Guida or 'another top guy'

He should beat both of them IMO, I can't see a reason for him to drop though, did he say why?

He said he's fought at LW before in 2008 and 2009. And he Walks around at 175lbs anyways.

He has also said he doesn't like how clutered the WW division is and how far down the pecking order he is.

Makes sense I suppose, WW is a long waiting list right now and I think he'll do great at LW providing the cut is good.

Between Nate Diaz and Ebersole LW is in trouble, we may see more heading for 145.

If he is walking around at 175, then yeah he is a LW but in terms of "clutter" I don't know that LW is really any better than WW.

He didn't look that small at WW, is there are source on him walking at 175?

I was gonna say!.....lol LW is as bad as WW, if not worse. If he can comfortably shed the weight then why not! But I think he'll join an equally long waiting queue.

Watch his section on MMA hour with Ariel Helwani. I think he says something like 175lbs is his natural walk around weight when he is eating healthy. I presume he has bulked up a bit and is at 180+ atm. But he basically says making 155 was pretty easy for him, when he did it a few years back.

He's had noticeable wins at his current weight class. He's a dark horse...very skilled...but doesn't have a marketable name. Maybe if he KOs more people with his goofy cart wheel kick...lolz! I'm still trying to figure out how to block that without taking too much damage.

It might be a smart move temporarily to get a shot for the title, but once he loses he will have to climb up the ladder again.

He's using the drop-down-big-name trick which is smart for him to do. Sometimes when fighters drop down a weight class they get put in with known names in their first fight in that class. It might be his way to get some higher profile fights, just look at the names he picked.

IMO if he wants more exposure from the UFC, he not only needs to continue to win his fights but also work on his image a bit to separate himself his average joe look. As sad as it my be, most people are shallow and ADD in our image obsessed society.
