Is Matt Hughes still the most dominate WW ever?
Ok all opinions about the guys as people aside and looking at them strictly as fighters here
I was watching a ufc documentary on matt and it got me thinking. Ok yeah GSP beat him twice but when I look at the wins the two fighters had Matt were exciting dominate wins GSP on the other hand has been doing nothing but L&P his victories and not really dominating opponents.
Also by their 3rd fight when you look how nonchalantly he trained for that fight and simply the expression on his face when he walked in the cage it is evident that Matt had lost the killer instinct nessacary to be a champ and I don't think that third fight represents how a prime Matt Hughes would prefom.

Considering GSP destroyed him twice and I beleive broke his title defense streak I am going to have to say no. But he was very dominate.
GSP is way more well rounded. He went several fights without losing a round, sure Hughes finished guys, but I think the guys he beat were not as good as the ones GSP beat. Guys like Joe Riggs, an ancient Royce Gracie, Frank Trigg twice. They are a far cry from Kos, Fitch, Sheilds, ALves, Hughes twice, BJ Penn.

This is easy.
No.
I can already see this thread turning into a GSP in his prime vs. Hughes in his prime though...lol

I have to say no, solely because most people either forgot or fail to remember that in his prime BJ Penn beat him for the belt, but then he just left the organization so when Hughes fought again the belt was on the line.

Hughes beat BJ also...along with Sherk. Sherk might not be much now at this stage but at that time Sherk was a monster (GSP finished Sherk as well) but didnt want him to be left off the list

Yea, but BJ destroyed Hughes twice which to me kind of cancels out that win for me. Its weird I know, but I just feel that win is not as valuable.

GSP easily. He has been completely dominant. Not that Matt Hughes wasn't but GSP is just on another level. He is the more complete fighter as well. Although some of his victories leave a lot to be desired, there were many that didn't. I'm talking about Serra in the fetal position, Alves' face looking like hamburger meat, Penn quitting in between rounds, Fitch being completely destroyed. GSP's record is just flat out more impressive.

GSP is now, but that is certainly of no discredit to Hughes. Besides, that WW belt means so much more given that GSP took it from a guy like Hughes.

Matt was an extremely dominant and impressive champion. That being said, I think the most dominant WW of all time title definitely goes to GSP.

The bolded is so far from the truth I'm surprised no one has called you on it yet. GSP hasn't dominated his opponents? GSP has been breaking his opponents. He grinds them to nothing, and after they fight him they're visibly diminished the next time they step in the octagon.
Also, calling what he does on the ground L&P shows a serious lack of knowledge.
