Roy Nelson challenges Mike Russow to a win or leave (the heavyweight division) bout
Quote:
In a heavyweight division of the UFC filled with fighters are who built like a Greek god, Roy Nelson and Mike Russow don't exactly fit the mold. After watching Fabricio Werdum knock out Russow at UFC 147, Nelson was struck with matchmaking inspiration.
"I want Mike Russow and loser goes to 205 or becomes Dana White Rich. Let make it happen @danawhite," Nelson tweeted.
Both men appear to carry more body fat than most of their counterparts and look like they could cut down a weight class. They also both have recent losses to Werdum, as Nelson dropped a decision to him in February.
This isn't the first time Nelson has contemplated a drop down. In March, he said he would try to get to light heavyweight if he added 100,000 Facebook likes. However, he abandoned the plan when he was booked for the all-heavyweight main card at UFC 146.
A drop for Russow, who weighed in at 246 lbs. for UFC 147, may be a bit more difficult than for Nelson. In addition to being a pro fighter, he is a full-time officer in the Chicago Police Department. He doesn't train full-time, like Nelson does.
Of course, the difficulty in dropping down would also give Russow more motivation to win the fight. Do you want to see this fight? Speak your mind in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter.

Nelson knocks the porker into next week.
Russow should be cut afterward so he more time badgering and profiling the residents of southside Chicago. All the time he spends training and fighting, someone is *gasp* smoking and selling marijuana. They need to be beaten and shown whos boss!

Nelson should just drop to 205. He has so much potential as a fighter, but I just feel the heavyweight division isn't for him.

That's what I was thinking. May as well make it a hardcore rules match while they're at it. You know, throw in a kendo stick, a few trash cans, maybe a hotdog cart & a few cupcakes to keep the fatties' energy levels up... lol

Easy win for Nelson, he needs a better opponent. If he's really looking for a reason to move down, he should just go ahead and move down, not waste time fighting HW scrubs.

In before Dr. Benjamin accuses Nelson and Russow of abusing roids.
There's "NO WAY" they could compete at a high level subsisting on donut and cheeseburger diets!
Must be juicing, yo!
