I'm sure Chael is loving this. He wants Anderson to open up and try to tear his head off so he can get the TD that much easier.

I do fear for Chael though. Anderson is going to be much more prepared for the takedown this fight. I love Chael but I honestly don't think he's gonna take Silva down this fight.

I don't think Chael is loving this at all. It's the same old dog and pony show from him. He has stated before that Silva is going to know they are in a fight. Well I think the tables have been turned.

I get confused that in the first fight Sonnen had landed a total of 320 strikes and he didn't seal the deal. Hell, he had 89 of those being significant. Its just mind boggling to me that most fighters would have been destroyed after taking 300 punches (most of which to the head)and Silva walked away victorious and practically unscathed.

If there is one fighter who has been shown to impose his will while fighting on emotion its Silva. Like I said in previous a thread, I think this is bad news for Sonnen.

Sonnen isn't worried or scared by this "new" Silva. And Silva isn't suddenly loosing it. The bottom line is, this is the real Silva and it's finally coming out. He has been holding back, but it's how he felt all along.
Since it's how he felt all along, but only recently decided to voice it, means it won't be an emotional factor that detracts from his performance.

However, for Sonnen, while it may not bother him, it's a totally new angle that he will have to think about, that prior to, he didn't. That can work against him.

All of that being said, MMA is really simple. In a 5 round fight like this, the better all around MMA fighter will win. And that is clearly Silva. He was the better in the first fight and he won, he is still the better in the second fight, and will still win.

He was better for approx 20 seconds... unfortunately for Chael that's all it took.

I just feel that Silva opened up to help pump up the fight that much more. It's already going to do excellent PPV numbers I imagine and Silva having a rare spewage of fight hype can't hurt proceedings.

I respect what Chael brings to the table and would be a bit stoked if he won, if for nothing else than to shake up things until the trilogy. (I just mean for talking points alone - it'd be interesting to see the build up to a trilogy fight which would be immediate imo)

On the other hand, I fully expect Silva to win this inside the first 2 minutes by vicious TKO/KO and absolutely destroying the 'myth' that is Chael Sonnen. At least as far as being close to the same level as he - the spider. I'm well aware of the first fight, but feel that Silva's ribs really played a big role, and I don't feel that's the biased "fan boy" in me, as I really just appreciate what Silva can do, just like I enjoy the challenge Chael can present for any middleweight.

Meh , just how I see it going, I won't complain either - there's nothing more satisfying than watching a master in that cage showing you what's up. (If Chael could do this and actually finish I'd be down for that too)

I'll be at a wedding in the Okanagan when this goes down, so I'm going to have to try incredibly hard to not have it spoiled before I get home and get a chance to check it out.

The Maia throw was simply beautiful though. I doubt anyone in the UFC could ever recreate that takedown on Chael. And i seriously have doubts Chael thought Anderson would attempt a takedown. Your going to need more proof then those 2 fights to convince anyone that Chael can be taken down by any Brazilian.

This fight will land Chael in the hospital. I'm willing to sig bet, which I never do. Silva by mercy ko in the mid 4th after marking him up.
