The UFC can still three there is next week right before July 4th or on July 4th which should have some great sound bytes from Chael and one on Friday as a lead in to the weigh ins.

He says stuff right out of the WWE, he takes pre-fight hype to the next level, and its probably gained the most fame just from pure talk alone than anyone else. Tito paved the way, and he's taking it to the next level. Giving Anderson his toughest fight also doesn't hurt either. You can hate Chael all you want, but what other man was that close to stopping Anderson since he joined the UFC? none.
Look at all the people who talk shit about GSP, and then slowly are forgotten about after he beats them soundly. Thats what Anderson needs to do, thats what he said he will do on radio.
Can't wait.

A lot of people often seem to forget that Silva was on a streak of uninteresting fights against incredibly inferior opponents/having terrible performances. Silva lost a lot of interest after Cote, Leites, Maia, and although he KO'd Forest, that was a complete joke of a fight. Chael came in and generated more excitement for a Silva fight then there ever has been.

This is the more logical side of things yes. I'm kind of worried though, the UFC seems to be lacking real big title fights in the last few years and once this one goes by there might be a drought that causes people to lose interest.
Brock and GSP used to be the biggest draws but it's Chael now, there aren't enough fighters that understand the promotional aspect of the UFC. Yes a lot of what Chael says is stupid, immature and untrue but it hypes fights. I hate the immature insults and all that, but it just might break UFC viewership records at 148. Without Sonnen Anderson would be an afterthought these days, knocking out Okami and Belfort in the first round. Sonnen is the perfect counterpart to Silva stylistically.

No other guy has been that close. No. But he tapped....like he has done his whole career.
In that fight Anderson was the tougher man. Anderson wanted it more. Anderson did in 10 seconds...what Chael couldn't do for 4.5 rounds. That is win the damn fight. Chael isn't a lay and prayer....but he doesn't know how to finish fights. If he was so bad and Anderson is such a "punk" you would think he would have been able to finish him....or hell...even hurt him. But in the end he said "I quit uncle Anderson"....and that is the worst way to lose.
|
umm, it took Anderson 4.5 rounds to win the fight. he didn't win the fight in 10 seconds.
also, tapping isn't the worst way to lose a fight. tapping is smart if you are caught in a sub. the worst way to lose a fight is to not only lose, but also get injured bc you were stupid and didn't tap (see big nog).
regardless, a win is a win and silva won the fight.

This fight probably won't even do a million buys, unless they put the full court press on during the week of. Maybe if the Primetime was 3 weeks and on FX I could see it.
Their first fight only got 600,000 and it was on a much, much better card.

This is a Chael/Anderson discussion. Logic means absolutely nothing here.

I did find it to be going a bit too far and im someone that has found just about everything Chael has said really funny so far. To talk about kids that are to poor to afford the kids white kids can and are forced to have fun playing outside in the mud is pretty low. Im sure those kida dont find anything wrong with the way their playing so that Chael looks down on them for it.... ehhh
Oh well im still on Team Chael.

Yes, it was pathetic. The irony is though, that on one hand chael wants to play it all gangsta and street fred (out of west linn of all places lol) and on the other wants to play it mr sophistication discussing American ingenuity in a comfortable setting with his mates when he was a kid.
Does he actually believe the crap that comes out of his mouth is what I want to know...?
