Chael? Chael who?

Need more info, I don't remember that name. Sounds like some kind of Leafy Green Vegetable.

If that was in reference to the first fight, Chael was far from legit that night. Remember the whole TRT thing? And honestly Hendo came as close as Cheal in the second fight.

Nah, I hope he's not retiring. The man gives some entertaining interviews even without the silva trolling and more often than not his fights are entertaining as well.

Entertaining outside the octagon. Best trash talker the sport ever had. Cheater, criminal. That's about it.

We'll see when he fights Munoz, Wanderlei, Rich and Belfort. Those fights should be a lot of fun if they indeed happen. Hope he comes on top, because then he will be remembered as one of the greatest middleweights in UFC history.

+1, me too.

A douchebag, loser. That's how he'll be remembered.

And the highlight of his career was a fluke match against an injured fighter who still beat him.

I remember his first UFC stint and thought him to be average. Got his Babalu fight recorded, will watch it again to assess. He then came to the UFC and I thought nothing until he destroyed Marquardt and Okami, in a way no other fighter could at that time. He backed all of his crazy talk and almost backed his talk against Silva.

He is a genius at marketing and not delusional.
If Okami or Fitch had Sonnens marketing then they would have gotten more title shots in their careers.

He is still known as the best MW fighter apart from Silva and would be champ if Silva moved and he avoided Maia.

I will remember him as:

1. The first one to bring openly xenophobic comments into the UFC in all it's history, promotion or no promotion. The closest precedent being the word "frenchie" used by Hughes for GSP which probably doesn't even count.

2. The first one (or one of the first ones I'm not quite sure on this one) to get a TRT legal license to cheat and open the pandora's box for a cheap new tactic, unbalancing the sport and exposing many elite athletes to the temptation of destroying their entire personal lives and health for short term gain.

3. The first one classless enough to actually drag wives and families into trash talk in all of UFC history.

4. A cheat who got smashed like the bug he is.

5. A crap comedian.

6. The martyr for classless douches world wide.

The little people will always be around to try to tear their betters down I suppose.

There's only one way to remember the man who threw a spinning backfist on the GOAT in front of millions.

Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus, and you petty men
Walk under his huge legs and peep about
To find yourselves dishonourable graves
He's a winner. He can't even hear you little ones.
