If Andy moved up Machida would just move down and beat the hell out of Chael.

I have just been thinking more and have to include a 185lb Gegard Mousasi, especially if he spent majority of his camp training with Dutch Golden Glory instead of his usual few weeks.
I saw a clip of Mousasi sparring with Saki, and G.Saki is a top 5 striker in the whole combat world. Mousasi really tested him and wasnt far behind.

Silva can only be challenged by Belfort currently for me. A 185lb Mousasi could match or even outstrike Silva and that is something I would like too see.
Hang on even Belfort vs Mousasi would be an incredible matchup.

Mousasi would die. Silva could simply out cardio him if he felt like it but he would outstrike him. Mousasi is a fine kickboxer but this isn't kickboxing. This is MMA where Anderson is the number 1 striker in the world.

I think Anderson has maybe three fights left in him what I would like to see is.

1. Hector Lombard (or Munoz/Boetsch)
2. 205 vs Jon Jones (because lets face it after Henderson their is no one for Jones to fight)
3. The winner of this 8 man tournament

Michael Bisping
Alan Belcher
Luke Rockhold
Mark Munoz
Chris Weidman
Rich Franklin
Vitor Belfort
Brian Stann

Anderson is one the greatest strikers in the world and he has shown his superiority in striking against his opponents. Mousasi is levels above his opponents in striking.

Compare Silvas opponents to Mousasi and there is a huge difference in footwork, range, combinations, body movement, striking experience, timing, inside striking range and confidence. Fighters have shown to get scared of Silva, Mousasi wont because he spars with the best in world frequently.

Vitor is the only guy who can match a few of them attributes and Hendo probably beats Mousasi in power. Thats it!!

Lombard hasnt fought anyone in the top 20 so he has no place in the title mix until he has proved himself.

If Rashad wants to move down to MW i think that would be the most interesting fight. Bispings style would get him murdered, Munoz is not a big enough name and anderson has already beat the rest of the divison.

Why would I do that when I can simply compare the two fighters themselves? I've watched both extensively. Silva's footwork, range, movement, striking experience, timing, and inside striking are all superior to Mousasi. He's good but he's never wowed me standing. Anderson finishes people with moves he sees in the movies and wants to try.

Alexander Shlemenko and Tim Boetsch are in the top twenty(top 15 really). I don't know what an Olympic caliber athlete who hasn't lost a fight in 8 years has to prove...but it doesn't really matter as no one else is in the mix. The UFC ****ed up not making CC/Couture or Lesnar/Fedor they saw how much money and how well Shields/GSP did I don't think their is any question that if Lombard wins he's getting the next shot with Munoz/Weidman as the alternate.

I think its similiar to the HW division, Santos hasnt reached Silvas accomplishment but is similiar being the dominant striker. Forget Overeem because he is suspended and finally got caught abusing.

Now you comparing Mousasi directly to Silva and say Mousasi would get destroyed because of MMA fight footage. If you think Silva totally has better striking attributes then Mousasi, then its like saying Silva can match/better kickboxers like Badr Hari, Saki and Ghita.

Look at Mark Hunt he has many losses and hasnt showed the Santos level winning career.
We both know even looking at Hunts inferior career record that Hunt is the only fighter that can strike with Santos and could very well finish him.

Mousasi doesnt have the same career dominance record as Silva but you have to admit Silva would face his considerably biggest striking test with Mousasi.
