Next for Anderson ?

What do you guys think is next/what would you like to be next for the young Jedi master aka Anderson silva.

I personally DON'T want to see him vs Munoz or bisping ..they both have realistically NO CHANCE and will try all fight to take him down with no success.

Now fights I would like to see is

Alan Belcher... Belches striking is really good and would love to see Anderson in a battle with a good muay thai striker.

Cung lee, why not especially if he wins another fight.. Last chance at glory for cung intact he has nothing to lose.. Would be a awesome fight regardless of the outcome with crazy highlights

Hector Lombard ,.. Power puncher that if he connects might have a chance..would be a good standup match

I know this is mma but Anderson is such a Jedi in the standup I want to see him at his best, not him vs a wrestler thats going to get gnped trying to take silva down

Well it will most assuredly be someone already in the UFC already as there are very few people who come in and instantly get title shots and Lombard isn't nearly as established as any of those who did. Lombard is out for me. (In post edit: I just remembered he IS in the UFC now, but he has a scheduled fight with Boestch at 149. If he dominates that fight in ridiculous fashion it could very well set him up for a title fight)

Bisping is coming off a loss, but it is to Chael. Either way he needs another fight, probably 2, against top competition to get up to the top again.

Le won't happen due to his acting career. He's a fighter to fill cards and not much more now. Also he doesn't have nearly the right credibility to face off with Silva. A win over Cote, while I think is fairly impressive, doesn't look good on paper to couch fans. He needs to win against some real, high ranked competition before he thinks about it.

In all honesty, the winner of Weideman/Munoz is next and rightfully so IMO. I'm not sure that Chris is ready, but I also can't think of a better test to see if he is than Munoz right now. That's a huge fight and if he wins it it will vault him to the top. If Munoz wins that's a surefire shot IMO. 5 fights in a row against some pretty legit competition in Maia (previous #1 contender), Simpson, Leben (who was red hot) and then Chris, who is the fastest rising star in the division.

The only kink in this plan is Belcher. Belcher is the one I would like to see get the shot most, because I love the dude so I'm biased. Do I think he has what it takes to beat Anderson? Not really. If he puts Silva on his back and drops huge bombs like he did with Palhares he'll crush him, but Silva is a different animal and it wont be that easy.

Logically the one to beat Silva out of Belcher, Munoz and Weidman is Munoz. He stands the best chance as he's a stellar wrestler, has an iron chin, is super aggressive and has stupid power from top position. He's the one I'm betting on getting the shot before Belcher. Belcher gets the shot if Munoz is out too long after beating Chris or Chris wins that fight.

Munoz and Belcher are right there.

IMO Lombard could pose a nasty threat..

the guys I can see in the line up now.

Mark Munoz
Rashad Evans
Brian Stann (may need 2 more fights)
Michel Bisping (may need 2 more fights)

any of those 4 would probably be the best options for his next fight.

I dont think Lombard deserves it but I really want to see those two fight. That would be an awesome stand up battle and hopefully it would end like the Belfort fight did

With another impressive and KO highlight reel Boetsch might get AS next. I don't like his chances, but if anything he is one of the few guys to show he knows how to react to pressure.

I think Silva has the current MW roster on lock and will win barring a lucky punch or submission.
His weakness is wrestling and Sonnen is definetly the best wrestler in the division and that was his greatest challenge.

I think there is only one fighter who could stand a 35/65 chance of beating Silva and that is by striking.

His name is Vitor Belfort!!
For a title fight that actually threatens the Silva dominance we need Belfort to win one more fight then get granted Silva/Belfort 2.

I mean this sucks now. I don't see anyone in the MW division that can beat silva or chael baring something crazy.

If Boetch beats Lombard he deserves it the most he will have the two best wins of a contender. I'd like to see Andy fight either the winner of Boetch/Lombard or have a showcase fight at 205 with Shogun. Boetch crowned Okami that is a way bigger win than any Weidman or Munoz has. I say put Belcher against Bisping and the winner of Weidman/Munoz against Vitor for the title shot after the next one.

There really isn't anyone that can compete with Anderson in the MW division, I'd like him to move up to LHW.
