Rampage is back vs Teixeira - Ufc 153 in Rio
Retirement fight!
"Two fighters the UFC attempted to book against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua this year will instead square off against one another in October. Brazilian site SporTV.com reports that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will make his return to action at UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro in October, and it will come against Glover Teixeira.
The bout is expected to be Jackson's final fight in the UFC. His frustrations with the organization have grown over the years, and the UFC has agreed to part ways with him following his final contracted bout. They announced that it would be against "Shogun" Rua earlier this year, but Jackson then underwent knee surgery, delaying his return.
With "Shogun" then again needing an opponent for this month's UFC 149 event when Thiago Silva suffered an injury, the UFC attempted to book him against Teixeira. However, Rua didn't want that bout, and took a fight with Brandon Vera at UFC on Fox 4 next month.
Jackson hasn't fought since his loss to Ryan Bader in February, his second straight loss after losing to Jon Jones in a title fight last year. Teixeira made an impression in his UFC debut, demolishing Kyle Kingsbury on the preliminary card at UFC 146 for his 16th straight win."

Exciting fight for sure - Rampage has been quiet lately which suits him much better than trolling Zuffa in the media as he was doing following UFC 144...
I'll say the same thing I say before every BJ Penn fight nowadays - If Rampage comes in motivated he wins, if not - he's going out on a loss.
Fingers crossed that he at least makes weight :/

Oh man this is gonna be a good one. Can Tex avenge Chucky's loss. They're really putting in a lot of stock on him.

Gun shy Rampage is getting beat up here I think. He ain't been the same guy since the third Wandy fight. Don't fight with any of that killer instinct no more, he's almost like a completely different fighter.

It's sad to see how far Rampage has fallen in MMA, he used to be such a great explosive fighter, now every time he comes out he looks scared and doesn't do anything. This will probably be no different.

All in on Teixeira. I have never seen him fight, but if Shogun ducks him and he fights a lazy unmotivated bastard, the result is allready obvious.

Nice fight, Rampage in Brazil fighting a Brazilian? Oh man this is gonna be some awesome build up.
He's wanted a striker, he's gonna get one. I don't know if Glover's the type of name that will get Rampage motivated but you can sure as shit bet Glover will be, and I think he's gonna murk Rampage in every sense of the word.
Glover by violent stoppage and the UFC getting some fresh meat for Bones.

I think Glover will actually put Rampage out like Wanderlei did.

Great fight, Rampage has been hesitant but he has had to chase people down lately, he fights best in the pocket, in a dogfight.
Glover, if he continues to be the fighter we know him to be, will not be scared to trade with Jackson. Glover winning would probably be better for the LHW division, but I'd love to see Jackson go out on a win.
Pretty confident this fight will stay on the feet and end with one guy on the floor.
