A few thoughts on Munoz
My overall feeling no this guy is that perhaps he is too soft for this game.
The week before a huge fight for him, he's talking about crying uncontrollably, being depressed for ages and not training properly. He then comes into the ring overweight and puts on an incredibly fireless and weak performance. Weidman must have thought all of his christmas' had come together. he didnt even have to go into second gear, and we know he has cardio issues with the amount of weight he cuts
All we hear about munoz is how nice a guy he is.
For me he needs to change this act and start becoming a proper fighter instead of everyones Bff. I just feel that soon if he keeps going in this manner he will either be out of the game or have to change his name to "the filipino hugging machine"

Have you ever seen Munoz fight before besides the Weidman fight?
He's far from your best friend when he's on top of you with his ground n pound, he just got outclassed by the guy whose very likely the best prospect in the game.

Yeah but you must have noticed in that fight a real lack of fire in him...Weidman is a good fighter, but Munoz got out wrestled by him, and Munoz is talked up as the best wrestler and best wrestling coach around these days. To get so schooled by Weidman my feeling is that he needs to get a bit more anger in him, and certainly not exposing his weak state of mind before a huge fight. That was a terrible mistake giving weidman an instant psychological advantage

Mark Munoz is a decent fighter and comes across as a great guy. However for the op poster, maybe Weildman is better, or maybe Munoz had a long lay off from the octagon and came off surgery hence why the bad performance.

Mark Munoz was coming off of a surgery and layoff walking into that fight.
Alot of fighters who come off of that combo look pretty crappy in the cage their first fight back.

This.
I would like to see a second fight after coming back from surgery and layoff. And if Rashad is indeed going to drop to MW why not line that fight up.

People lose fights. Has everyone forgot about the Hammil fight? That KO was just as bad as this one.

I don't know about that... Everyone has heard of his Donkey Kong style punches, and strength on the ground. He is feared on the ground for his power.
I get what you're trying to say, but he's much more than just some "friend" guy in my opinion. I think he's going to be a gatekeeper in the MW division, but he has beaten some good opponents, and is definitely not someone who should be taken lightly. He was definitely overrated before he fought Munoz, but now after his performance that night, I'm starting to think he's underrated.

I wasn't aware of this but it explains a lot. I think he may be a nice dude outside of the cage, but inside he's a nightmare when he's winning. I watched the slow motion replay of him vs Chris Leben, just watching him punching Chris and the blood literally spurting out of Chris' head with each punch, brutal stuff.
I don't think he's brutal enough to be a UFC fighter.
