If Zuffa/Spider want money fights, it's gotta be Hah-Shad or Bisping.

Even if Lombard finishes Boetsch in a Pettis-off-the-cage sportscenter highlight fashion on Saturday, that still wouldn't be enough to get him exposure to the numbnuts casual fans out there...

...Yeah, I have the same outlook. The only way Rashad is gonna fight Anderson is at 205 so who knows. I think Lombard & Weidman are good but not nearly good enough to beat Silva. Anderson has been on his back quite a bit in 6 years and has never been finished. Personally, I think Bisping deserves the next shot at Anderson. Bis has grade A stand-up which would make an exciting fight against Anderson...

Lol theres grade A level stand up, then theres anderson silva level stand up....bisping is a very good fighter and a top guy but style wise hes andersons easiest fight. Bisping footwork and pace wont help him against silva, silv would KO him in the 2nd (just because he likes to play around in the 1st)

He probably just wants to beat a champion. And Luke is unlikely to get a surprise win while Hector can Surprise Ko anyone.

Im going to weigh in on who I think Anderson should fight next at MW. The answer is.... nobody. Anderson, as of this October, will have been UFC MW champion for 6 fuggin years. He has won something like 14 straight in the octagon. If he wants big money fights and not just more title defenses then I think he should move up to 205. I think he should have his choice of opponents at 205. Either a warm up fight or straight to JBJ(or Hendo). And ya know what? I would be willing to bet the farm that if Hendo beats JBJ, then Anderson would move up. My point is this, Anderson has nothing left do at the MW division other than rack up defenses. Nobody IMO matches up well with him stylistically thats currently a contender. So just move on up and see what you can do. Thats where the money is. If Anderson were to fight Weidman as the ppv headliner, I wouldnt even bother to order it because it's too predictable unless they had a great undercard. In closing: Anderson is the MW champ, he deserves that title and if he wants to continue to just put notches on his belt then he has every right to do that. He doesnt owe it to anyone to move up. Its perfectly fine for him to just reign as king of 185. But if he wants a challenge and big named fights, off to 205 you go. Make it a revenge fight for what JBJ did to your buddy Lyoto. Or if Hendo wins, you already have a W against him at 185, lets see if you can beat him at 205. Its not like he cant do it or hed be undersized, in his fight against Forrest, IMO he looked bigger than Forrest.

P.S. I am not an Anderson fan. I am huge fan of his most famous opponents, Rich, Chael, and Hendo, but its undeniable that Anderson is head and shoulders over every one in that divsion.

Anderson should fight who he wants to fight. His fights against Luke would definitely be fun to watch along with Belcher, Bisping and Lombard. Rashad and Weidman possess the most viable threats. Of Vitor in my mind as well still.

Pay zee man his money!

As far as a fight that sells..I agree no one at MW is really intriguing.

I guess Bisping would sell, just like Frank Bruno vs Tyson would sell back in the day (even if people expected Bruno to lose)

As far as anyone else at MW, I don't see why Lombard is not a good choice if he wins his next fight. He was a champ at another org and he looks menacing and has exciting highlights...I think he is more marketable to the 'average' fan than anyone else at MW.

Does the casual fan really care if they 'know' a fighter? Maybe..but the hype is what sells and Lombard can be hyped up more easily than guy like Weidman imo.

Besides, the more a fan really knows about a fighters skills..the less intriguing the fight becomes vs Silva cos we can see how Silva can dominate..Lombard is an unknown, he could be the Silva killer for all we know

If it's big money, marketable fights his camp are after, then move up and fight Jon Jones for the title.

It doesn't get much bloody bigger than that.

Silva is the best fighter of all times, but if he wants to pick his fights and only wants to chose big money opponents regardless of their rankings, he should put down the belt. The belt is there to be defended against whoever is next in line, regardless of how marketable that fight is. At least if the UFC wants MMA to be seen as a serious sport. If Silva doesn't want to play the ranking opponent game, that's ok, it's his choice and his right, but the belt must be there for someone who is willing to defend it against the next contender.
