MMA International rankings

Just a quick one to get your thoughts on how different nations stack up. I'd have to go

1. USA
2. Brazil
3. Canda
4. UK
5. Japan

What do you think?

That's actually a unique way to lay it out.

I think it's pretty clear that USA and Brazil are the number one and two countries on average as far as producing the best camps and individual fighters.

Canada, IMO, would have to have third place on lock down, while the UK, Japan, Russia, and maybe even Sweden compete for the remaining spots.

They have great kickboxers. But they'd be below Thailand by a lil bit. Those pure Muay Thai fighters are disgustingly good. Albeit, small dudes.

To those who would put Japan ahead off the UK, why? I'm not saying you are wrong as there are different ways to catogorise, I just can't see the top Japanese fighters beating their UK counterparts.

The real problem with Canada is their quality athletes all appear to be at 170

The problem is the weight classes. For the most part Japan's fighters are lighter weight classes, and they are just getting introduced into the UFC.

I'd put UK above Japan right now, but 5 years ago Japan would easily be higher than UK.
