He can certainly turn into a good UFC 205er. But I don't see any contender skills in him.
Never mind Jones, Jimmo isn't ever going to be a top 10 guy even. I hate to say it since I'm always looking to back Canucks but he really isn't that good. I've seen enough of his fights that I agree he is never going to be a contender. He is UFC caliber, which is more than most fighters can say, but he'll be a .500 fighter at best in the UFC.

I can't really judge him off one fight, before the Perosh fight a lot of people were saying Jimmo was a horribly boring fighter.

I'm thinking he just hit Perosh with the perfect shot.

IMO if you win in 7 seconds via KO, it has to be a perfect shot anyway.

I don't hold quick knockouts in high regard, like Fitch/Hendricks, Jimmo/Perosh etc etc it doesn't show someones resolve, it more shows standup defence errors on the losers part. Just my way of viewing fights.

I'd pass judgement on Jimmo after a war or attrition or total domination.

He'll never fight for a title. He'll beat dudes though. He has a pretty boring yet effective style that's hard to match.

He's been training in Karate since he was a kid...and not the go to the dojo in suburbia every week like most kids....I mean in the basement peeling the skin off of his feet practicing his footwork, so he's got some skills there.

You mean at worst. LHW division is terrible.

The only way he goes .500 or lower is if he's constantly fighting the likes of Machida, Bader, Shogun and Rashad.

Jimmo isn't particularly great, especially athletic but he can point style fight really well and he's good in the clinch and has pretty good wrestling for a karate guy.

One of the things i have learned in watching MMA is never judge how good(or bad) a fighter is on a flash KO.

Yep, he could be the next Todd Duffee. I am a fan of his Sudo like robotics though.

Agreed. There is no way to really judge his potential off of that fight. Especially against someone like Perosh.

He's already lost to Antwin Britt on TUF who wasn't good enough to make the UFC. Yeah, that was 3 years ago but considering since then he is barely winning split decisions against UFC rejects like Eastman and Sokky (I thought he lost that one for sure), I don't see how he is a lock for a winning record in the UFC.
