When Mike Swick fought Marcus Davis, Davis was on a 11 fight win streak. Goulet was on a 3 fight win streak. Ben Saunders was on a 7 fight win streak. Joe Riggs before that fight was 3-1 in his last 4 fights and that loss is against Matt Hughes and his win before the Swick fight was against Nick Diaz.
Marcus and Joe Riggs were serious contenders at that point in time. Mike Swick was actually supposed to lose to Riggs. Ben Saunders was also being thrown into the contender label.
But your knowledge on MMA probably doesnt go that far back. And you only know what you see on ShtDog.
And ACTUALLY my post was responding to YOUR question about why Damarques is on a UFC on Fox card And i gave you the proper response. I SAID ABSOLUTELY nothing about it being a step down or step up.
So why dont you buzz somewhere else and find someone else to Bug.
And just because a fighter isnt number 1 doesnt mean he cant be my favorite. I like the way he fights. End of story.

I really want Mike Swick to win and I am really excited to see him return.
BUT
There is also part of me that really wants to see Sideways sad

Man, Swick filled out. So happy he got his weird ass stomach disease in check. He's looking so much thicker now. That profile shot between both of them shows the difference. Just look at his bicep and upper shoulder...he is going to murder him.

Well if Mike Swick loses tomorrow i am probably gonna get a little blow up boat. Drive to the liquor store. Drive to a lake. And just let the tide take me wherever it wants as i drink my rum out of the bottle and stare at the stars all the while thinking about the meaning of life.
As to that one guys post... No i didnt actually get sad. But i dont want to see posts about how Johnson sucks and has no point in being on a Fox card in the same thread about how good Swick looks this time around. I found it annoying and a little bit tasteless.
I wouldnt come in to a thread where someone is incredibly stoked on their fighter and them finally being back and then me posting about how the opponent has no business being in the UFC. I could make a separate thread if thats what i wanted to talk about.
BUT thats me.

21 wins is impressive, or it is until you list the names - Paul Taylor, Jess Liaudin, Jason Tan, Pete Spratt, Shonie Carter, Forrest Petz, Mike Vaughn, Jason Hathaway, Doug Gordon, Craig Gunder, Andy Normington, Brandon Wolff, Ryan Thomas, Dan Barrera, Charles Blanchard, Kenny Stevens, Rick Delvecchio, Reggie Pena, Kuniyoshi Hironaka, Paul Georgieff, Dan Chambers.
I look at that list and I don't think "watch out GSP we got some badass title contenders coming around".

Yeah I should really focus on the past and not the present. I mean presently I can't watch serious contenders Joe Riggs and Marcus Davis fight. And Ben Saunders...boy nothing says not a C-list fighter than Bellator prelims which is where he last fought....on the Bellator prelims.

Well i guess when you become a fan of MMA in 2011 its a bit hard to know what was going on before then.
