Why does everybody assume there HAS to be another contender? Why can't we just wait for Jones to fight Henderson and set up something like Gustafson-Machida in the meantime. I would rather Jones take a few months off than force an unworthy title defense. Or even in the meantime Jones could do a Heavyweight fight just for kicks like Anderson did at LHW.

One of those bad boys lands then we may be seeing Hendo/Machida!
If Hendo loses it should be Hendo vs Machida. I really want to see this fight. Then if Machida wins as he should he gets the title shot.

Machida has tweaked his game a bit. He knows he can't outmuscle most of the wrestlers in the division so he's focusing even more on his speed just like his dad who utilized angles as he was a very short karate fighter.

In the rematch Machida will probably press forward rather than letting JBJ take the lead this way it cuts his counter time in half. If you watch closely Machida did not circle wide to the left like he usually does. Instead he, ducked, bobbed, and weaved which enabled him to counter much more efficiently. Also leave him less susceptible to that huge overhand right.

I'm going to put $50 bet on Machida against JBJ cuz I know he'll probably be at least a 3:1 underdog. This will be his final chance to win back the belt. I still wish they would let him fight Hendo...who knows maybe JBJ might get injured and Machida will be forced to fight Hendo OR the H-bomb somehow lands and there's a new champ.

Great night of fights!!!

i dont understand why everyone is over looking hendo.

someone once asked me when we talk about PrideFC why we never put
"the" in front of it, i asked him, "do you put the word 'the' in front of God?"

Because he's not a natural LHW, he's giving up over a foot in reach, and he has maybe 2 rounds to KO Jones before he completely gases.

He basically only has a punchers chance, and it's not a good one considering how much longer Jones is than him.

Simple reason Jon Jones is one of the best, Henderson is great , but guys Like Jones,Silva,GSP are on the next level.

He did beat Fedor, but so did Big Foot,Werdum, he did beat shogun, but Shogun is nowhere as good as i thought he was back in pride. Hendson on the other hand has lost to Anderson, page, sheilds, and had a close fight with Rich Franklin. I just see Jon Jones destroying him.

No. Fedor doesn't have ungodly reach and Fedor was coming off 2 losses while Jones is coming off the dismantling of 4 previous champions.

Believe me, I wish Hendo would KO Jones and take the belt and retire. But, it's not happening.

The only guy that was hell for Jones was Machida. He did a single mistake Jones punished him for that. Machida this time will be ready differently.

I think Machida would beat Henderson and has a small chance of beating Jones. IT IS TOO BAD HE IS ANDERSON SILVAS FRIEND!
Weighing in at 201 pounds Machida could easily be at 185 but then he would have to fight Anderson Silva, his friend.
