I don't see it going much different than the last fight. Machida has always been impressive with the striking. the Bader fight didn't tell us anything new. People who take a run at Machida go down, but Jones doesn't have to do that.
as a Machida fan, i was really hoping that Shogun would look impressive against Vera. Now i am cheering twice as hard for Dan Henderson.

I think the fight will go much like round 1 did. Machida took that round, and then got caught and ended up in that vintage choke Jones gets a lot. I don't think that will happen again.
Machida I still feel has the only style to beat Jones and he proved it in the first round. He's comfortable on the outside and can fight Jones from the outside. I don't take credit away from Jones for finishing the first fight, but I se an upset in the air. This is going to be leonard herns, bruce lee Jabbar, Spinks Holmes.

i see a lot of members putting stock into a round Machida might have won. why, when he gets destroyed less than a round later? if he won the first 3 rounds then got caught with a wild punch in the 4th, i can maybe see. is the hate for Jones that bad here?

I don't think it's hate, it's just when you look at his career so far, that's the only time besides the Rashad headkick he's ever been in any trouble.

trouble is a strong word for the 1st round of the Machida fight. to me it's like a football team getting beat 49-7 but all the loser's fans can talk about is that they were winning 7-0 in the 1st quarter. haha

So what¿ In every sport the underdog mostly gets some kind of support. That doesn't necessarily mean any hate for the stronger opponent is involved. Machida was more or less the only one (except for Evan's almost lucky head kick) to show at least a glimpse skill and ability to pose some sort of "trouble" to Jones. So why not let people fantasize about him exploiting that glimpse a little more in a rematch¿
Everyone knows how strong Jones is, so it's not hard to predict how he will most probably do against any opponent.

The rematch is weird to sell for UFC. While having the best performance against Jones (aside from Evans), he also got put away in the most brutal fashion. I wouldn't mind the rematch but after this, i don't know..

Probably with JBJ being reminded to "Go and get some fans" again and help Lyoto wake up.
Seriously his reach completely nulls out Lyoto's elusiveness because JBJ can hit him well outside his range. Lyoto could only spring in last time behind something JBJ threw, so my theory is what happened last time will happen again.

I honestly think Machida has the best chance at beating Jones...even though he lost very decisively last time.
The way he ran through Ryan Bader was just so impressive...I know many people here seem to think Bader is over-hyper and over-rated...I disagree. He is a legit prospect with wins over Lil Nog and Rampage. His only losses are to current/former champions. What Machida did to Bader was just something else. It was so obvious as the fight went on that Bader was getting more and more frustrated and couldn't figure out what in the hell to do with Machida. Lyoto is clearly on another level man. He made Darth Bader look like an absolute chump.
Lyoto's first round against Jones was pretty impressive. If he can avoid Jones' takedown, keep the distance and use his superb movement and timing he has a chance.
I am once again on board the Lyoto wagon
