Anybody else think that Holloway looks like an alien. Good win though...20 years old. They're gettin' younger and younger these days.

A lot of 'fans' just want to be able to brag that they knew so and so was going to be a beast back before everyone else. They're usually the ones with pics of current champions in their signatures/avatars.

I don't care about the best of the best, personally. I just like guys who come to put on a show.

The belt means nothing to me if you hold onto it by fighting timidly and winning every title defense by decision and making no effort to finish fights.

Most guys were pegging Eduardo Dudu Dantas from around the time before he won the Bellator tournament.

As of now, the best "unknown" guys that have legitimate hype and skills to match are probably Aljamain Sterling at 135 and Alexander Sarnavskiy at 155.
It seemed like some fans on this forum who have seemed to be knowledgeable in the past have made comments like how Lawrence is going places in the UFC and has a huge future based on that fight. It couldn't have been based on his fights against Marcello or Cofer. He looked average against Cofer, and Marcello was fighting with his chin up the whole time while pretending to be a kick boxer. I think the kid even believed in his own hype. That's not a good thing when you're still extremely young in your career. Maybe you're right about some fans not being knowledgeable about prospects alone.

Either way, I'm glad that's over with.

I can agree with that, RearNaked. I've seen that a lot.

I think it's safe to put the Lawrence hype to bed for good. The kid couldn't even win TUF and here he is getting finished in his featherweight debut. Yes his technique is fancy and looks nice, but it isn't that effective as a lot of his strikes don't land cleanly. He also tires somewhat easily which leaves him prone to getting finished and overwhelmed.
