Dana White: I think TRT is great and absolutely fair.

ďHereís the thing about TRT. Itís absolutely 100% legal. As sports medicine continues to advance, this is one of those things where every guyís testosterone level starts to drop as they get older and this is basically sports science now where they can bring it back up to a normal level. And I think itís great, itís absolutely fair, itís legal. The problem is, there are guys who say if this much is good THIS MUCh must be great, so you have guys who are always trying to do more than theyíre supposed to do. The big job is policing it, making sure that itís not being abused, that guys are using it the way itís supposed to be used.Ē

The interview has some other stuff too. Video is inside the link.

Not too long ago he was saying he would ban it if he could. I wonder why the switch.

He's exactly right, it's medicine, and it's evolution basically.

These guys in their forties like Randy Couture and Dan Henderson can still compete at the highest level, how is that wrong?

I agree with Dana... The only problem with TRT is the fact that the skeptical fighters refuse to use it, giving an unfair advantage to them.

I basically agree with Dana.
My only real problem with TRT is that it seems like guys are using as much of it as possible, so that they come in with the maximum allowable levels.
I can understand if someone has lower levels than A NORMAL MALE OF THEIR AGE, but they should only be given enough to get their levls back up to the levels of A NORMAL MALE OF THEIR AGE. Not the maximum possible allowed in the sport.

Plus, I imagine it wouldn't be all that hard for someone to beat the tests if they really wanted to.

Who knows why he changed his mind. As far as it's being controlled and people won't abuse it, i'm all for it. Like LL said, we get to see guys like Hendo do their thing, what's there to complain?

Fine, go along with it. Meanwhile I'll be watching a legit sport where doping is looked down upon.

Lol okay.

Is there any sport that has banned the use of TRT?? (I truly dont know) but it seems to me if there isnt then there is no "legit" sport according to you.

Any sport that's participating in the Olympics for example.

In fact I think the list of sports where the administration of testosterone allowed would be shorter than the list of the sports that allow administration of testosterone.

I just did a quick Google search on "testosterone replacement therapy in sports" and every link on the first page is MMA related.
