Anderson is sponsored by Nike Brazil.
Jones has a global sponsorship and you'll probably see ads of him in stores like Champs and on their website and what not.

AS for Jones being selected I think it's a terrible move based purely on the drunk driving. If it weren't for that, he'd be the perfect candidate. Only we hardcore fans really care about his personal life and how real or fake he is. The general Nike population will just see an amazing athlete.
I can see Nike pushing him beyond GSP for recognition if he manages to stay at the top for many years to come. Nike is just so damn big.
All that being said, GSP really laid the groundwork for major sponsors so it's great to see big companies getting more involved.

Drunk driving is a big deal, but not as far as Nike is concerned. The fanbase in general tends to have the memory of a goldfish. One NBA player or another gets DWIs almost every summer, it doesn't affect their product sales in the least.

Wow, still coming with the same ol same ol. Jones will be the biggest box office draw if he continues to perform the way he does. Jones just finished beating literally everyone's favorite LHW fighter from Shogun, to Rampage (omg black too!!!), to Rashad, (people clearly wanted Rashad to win because Jones is black), and Machida (not white either, as if it matters in anyone's head except yours and a couple other racist beatniks).
Once people calm down, realize how exciting Jones is, and once they get over the fact that no matter which top 5 fighter you cheered for before Jones entered the picture, he annihilated them, he will have a love train.

Don't believe everything you think. Ask yourself: Why do I constantly see racism in others? Perhaps it is the lens you are seeing the world through yourself.
GSP as a person is far more appreciated than JBJ. That may change someday, but it appears to be the situation currently. Has nothing to do with the race of either fighter. This sponsorship is good for JBJ, the sport, and for Nike. They will elevate the status of MMA in the mainstream because Nike is a trendsetting company.

Just to clarify, by being the next "Jordan", I didnt mean that JBJ would be the most famous athlete of all time, or even the most famous fighter. I simply meant that he could get his own line of shoes lol. Sorry if I "stepped on anyones toes" (pun intended) with my remark.

You're disgusting.
As for the OP, I'm glad Jones is getting the deal. Not only will this help Jones, but it will help garner interest in the sport with the large scale advertising we are sure to see in the future.
